Abstract:
An object of the invention is to provide a method and an apparatus for recycling plastics which is improved with respect to operation efficiency, operation environment, lowering degradation of plastics, recycling cost and environment load including saving energy. The recycling is made as follows: coarse-crushing used-up plastic products, separating plastic materials from other foreign matters by air blow separation, fine-crushing the separated plastics, washing the fine-crushed plastics by the process using a circulation flow including a spiral flow in which interaction between crushed plastics helps themselves clean without washing agents, dewatering the washed plastics, drying them, removing metallic matters by using metal detector, then feeding them directly without pelletizing to an injection molding machine of which nozzle part is equipped with filter and flow-switching mechanism for cleaning the filter by backwash reverse filtration.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a molded article laminated with fabric wherein a thermoplastic resin (A) has a fabric, made up of fibers of a highly heat resisting thermoplastic resin (B), adhered to the surface thereof, wherein the thermoplastic resin (A) of the molding contains the highly heat resisting thermoplastic resin (B) constituting the fibers and wherein the highly heat resisting thermoplastic resin (B) is present as a microdispersion of melt-blended minute particles in the thermoplastic resin (A), and a method not only for reprocessing the mold flashes at the time of the preparation of molded articles laminated with fabric but also for reprocessing the defective molded articles laminated with fabric which come from the production line and are destined to be discarded.
Abstract:
A seamless collapsible container has a molded finish, configured and adapted for sealing with a closure and, optionally, for attachment to a dispensing apparatus, and a seamless, blow molded body portion, comprising an inner surface, an outer surface, and a wall, where the wall is sufficiently thin to allow the body portion to collapse, and the molded finish and at least an inner layer of the body portion together comprise a seamless, single piece of thermoplastic material. The seamless collapsible container may be used in such applications as a bag-in-box, a carton liner, and a beverage pouch.

Abstract:
Synthetic roofing products such as simulated slate and clay tile shingles, and other products, such as flower pots, floor coverings, plastic pallets and the like are compression molded from a mixture of ultra low density polyethylene binder and a filler which may comprise recycled rubber products such as E.D.P.M (ethylene propylene diene monomer) and S.B.R. (styrene butadiene rubber). Colorants may be added to the mixture prior to final molding. Many of the products, especially synthetic shingles, are less expensive, easier to handle, and more durable than the slate or clay tile shingle product simulated.

Abstract:
The use of comminuted, recycled glass powders as a filler in molded plastic parts is disclosed. The recycled glass powder has non-uniform, rounded edges and is free from contaminants such as grinding compounds, metals, inorganic, and organic waste materials. The recycled glass powder filler can be used with a variety of different thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics commonly used to in injection molding and blow molding of plastic parts.
Abstract:
At least two thermoplastic polymers in a divided state are stirred to produce a homogeneous thermoplastic material. The polymers are inserted into the enclosure and stirred by the blades of the rotor, whereafter the resulting homogeneous material is discharged through the outlet. A sharp increase in the power consumption of the engine indicates that the material has become homogeneous.

A bumper of synthetic resin for use in an automobile includes a core, and an outer layer covering the core. The material for forming the core includes a main component produced by pulverizing a recovered bumper which has been formed using a polyolefin-based resin composition modified by an olefinic elastomer and which has a thermosetting synthetic resin coating film on its surface, and a polyethylene added to the main component. The material for forming the outer layer includes the polyolefin-based resin composition modified by the olefinic elastomer and the polyethylene in a content A.sub.2 which is smaller than a content A.sub.1 of the polyethylene in the core forming material (A.sub.2
Abstract:
An improved injection molding apparatus having a fixed mold 7 having a molten resin passage 16b and a movable second mold 8 having a molten resin passage 18 is presented in which residual hardened resin left in molten resin passages of the injection apparatus is removed automatically after every injection operation. The invented device is provided with a reciprocating member 34 which is coupled in molten resin passages 16b, 18, and during the injection step, the molten resin passage 16b is extended to the molten resin passage 18 by moving the reciprocating member 34 into the second mold to communicate a mold cavity 17 with a resin injection device 14. After the completion of the injection step, the reciprocating member 34 is moved to the back position to remove any resin left in the molten resin passage towards the first mold. The mold is then opened to separate the fixed mold 7 from the movable mold 8, leaving the reciprocating member 34 in the first mold so as to close off the opening of the molten resin passage 18. When the molds 16b, 18 are separated, this arrangement is effective in preventing exposing the passages 16b, 18 to ambient atmosphere, leading to leaking of molten resin from the passage 16b as well as preventing inclusion of air in molded products to cause a phenomenon called burning.
