摘要: A heater includes a ceramic structure; a heat-generating resistor embedded in the ceramic structure; a conductor line connected to the heat-generating resistor; a through-hole conductor having one end connected to the conductor line and the other end led out to a surface of the ceramic structure; and an electrode pad disposed on the surface of the ceramic structure so as to cover the through-hole conductor, the electrode pad being connected to the through-hole conductor. The through-hole conductor has a protrusion which protrudes outwardly beyond the surface of the ceramic structure.

摘要: A ceramic heater of the invention includes a ceramic structure; a heat-generating resistor embedded in the ceramic structure; and a feeder line embedded in the ceramic structure so as to be connected, at one end thereof, to the heat-generating resistor. The feeder line is made of metal, and metal grains of a center region of the feeder line are greater in grain size than metal grains of an outer periphery region of the feeder line. Even if a crack developed in the outer periphery region of the feeder line propagates through grain boundaries in the outer periphery region and comes near the center region, propagation of the crack through the interior of the center region can be suppressed.

摘要: A ceramic heater element 10 includes an insulating substrate 101, and a heating resistor 102 embedded in the insulating substrate 101. The insulating substrate 101 contains a main phase formed of β-SiAlON or a multiphase SiAlON of β-SiAlON and α-SiAlON; a grain boundary phase containing a rare earth element; and a silicide of at least one species selected from among Cr, W, Mo, V, and Fe. The heating resistor 102 contains a main phase formed of an electrically conductive compound containing at least one species selected from among silicide, nitride, and carbide of Mo, and silicide, nitride, and carbide of W; β-SiAlON or a multiphase SiAlON of β-SiAlON and α-SiAlON; and a grain boundary phase containing a rare earth element.

摘要: Provided is a highly durable ceramic heater capable of suppressing development of cracks in a base body resulting from a difference in thermal expansion between the ceramic-made base body and a heat generating element. A ceramic heater of the invention includes a ceramic base body and a heat generating resistor including a heat generation section composed of a bend portion and two rectilinear portions extending from opposite ends of the bend portion, respectively, the heat generating resistor being embedded within the ceramic base body. The two rectilinear portions include inner sides opposed to each other in a transverse section, and the inner sides include recesses in at least a midportion.
