Abstract: The present invention relates to communications methods and apparatus for session load balancing among session processing entities. An exemplary method embodiment includes the steps of receiving from a first device at a Signaling Front End Load Balancer (SLB) a first session initiation request destined for a second device; making a first session load balancing decision at the SLB with respect to the received first session initiation request; transmitting the first session initiation request to a first Session Border Controller (SBC) worker based on the first load balancing decision, the first SBC worker being one of a plurality of SBC workers forming a cluster of SBC workers, making a session mismatch determination at the first SBC worker with respect to a first session corresponding to the first session initiation request; and when the session mismatch determination is that a session mismatch has occurred notifying the SLB of the session mismatch.

Abstract: In some examples, a system receives a first collection of tokens relating to characteristics of workloads for a computing system. The system encodes the first collection of tokens, the encoding including computing weights representing relationships among tokens of the first collection of tokens, and generating a representation of the first collection of tokens based on the weights. The system determines, based on the representation, a correlation between the first collection of tokens and a second collection of tokens relating to elapsed times in executing the workloads.

Abstract: There is provided a load distribution apparatus configured to control a plurality of transmission devices to distribute loads of signals to be transmitted by the plurality of transmission devices, the load distribution device including a memory, and a processor coupled to the memory and the processor configured to receive a transmission request for transmitting an image signal without including a voice or a voice-attached image signal captured at a predetermined place, calculate a probability of changing a transmission mode in a transmission device of the plurality of transmission devices from transmission of the image signal to transmission of the voice-attached image signal, based on a history of transmissions of the image signal and the voice-attached image signal at the predetermined place, and assign the transmission request to the transmission device having the lowest probability among the plurality of transmission devices.

Abstract: A method for maintaining server persistency, including: (a) receiving, by an intermediate entity, a first session request from client to receive a service from a server out of a plurality of servers that are connected to the intermediate entity; (b) selecting a server out of the plurality of servers and directing to the selected server information indicative of the first session request; (c) receiving a response of the selected server to the information indicative of the first session request; (d) analyzing the response of the selected server, to provide an analysis result indicative whether the response includes code to be executed by the client and includes at least one instruction that facilitates sending, by the client, another request, to receive a service from a server out of the plurality of servers; (e) modifying, based on the analysis result, the code by adding information that will cause the client to send a selected server identifier in association to the sending of the other request; and (f) sending a modified response to the client, wherein the modified response includes the modified code.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments for enabling planned network changes such as an upgrade or downgrade of a network device are disclosed. The systems and methods provide for planned upgrades and downgrades for network devices without impacting existing network sessions, by utilizing two network devices simultaneously, and creating a redirect network session for a predetermined period of time. In so doing, all network traffic may be gradually transferred to the second network device, until the sessions processed by the first network device time out. The first network device can then be taken offline for upgrade or downgrade, without any disruption to the network service or loss of network traffic.

Abstract: Techniques for creating a persistent connection between client devices and one or more remote computing resources, which may form a portion of a network-accessible computing platform. This connection may be considered “permanent” or “nearly permanent” to allow the client device to both send data to and receive data from the remote resources at nearly any time. In addition, both the client device and the remote resources may establish virtual channels over this single connection. If no data is exchanged between the client device and the remote computing resources for a threshold amount of time, then the connection may be severed and the client device may attempt to establish a new connection with the remote computing resources.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and system for partitioning WLAN in order to separate network traffic from different WLANs. Specifically, a network device receives a packet from a client connected to a first network device on an access network. The network device then determines that the received packet is associated with a VLAN that is pre-configured on the first network device based on the access network to which the client is connected. Furthermore, the network device transmits the packet to a MAC layer switching device, which is not configured with the VLAN that is pre-configured on the network device. The packet includes one of a DHCP discovery message, an ARP request message, a unicast message, a multicast message, and a broadcast message. The unicast message will be transmitted to the second network device on the pre-configured VLAN prior to being transmitted to another network device outside the pre-configured VLAN.

Abstract: Techniques are described for providing session-aware, stateful network services to subscriber packet flows. Devices within a service provider network direct subscriber packets along service chains. Each tunnel is established to direct traffic according a particular ordered set of network services for the corresponding service chain. An ingress device for the tunnels encapsulate the subscriber packets and embed opaque session cookies that each uniquely identifies a collection of packet flows of a subscriber session amongst other packet flows transported by a given service tunnel. Each service node need only identify the tunnel on which a tunnel packet was received and the session cookie embedded within the tunnel packet to uniquely associate the encapsulated subscriber packet with a subscriber session, without needing to further inspect the encapsulated subscriber packet, and to index or otherwise retrieve state and statistics required to enforce the network service the service nod is programmed to deliver.
