Abstract: Disclosed herein is a network management apparatus, comprising: a script acquisition unit configured to acquire a script for automating an operation related to operating a network; a parameter acquisition unit configured to acquire an input parameter that is required to run the script acquired by the script acquisition unit in a production environment of the script and a run mode in the production environment; and a script running unit configured to run the script acquired by the script acquisition unit according to the run mode acquired by the parameter acquisition unit using the input parameter acquired by the parameter acquisition unit, and, when the run mode is a dry run mode, the script running unit skipping a process of changing configuration of the network among processes described in the script, and running the script in the production environment.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining, an application requirement for a server of a data center geographically separated from a central location. A configuration file adapted for the server according to the application requirement is obtained at the central location and a host processor located at the data center is selected according to the application requirement. A static IP address preassigned to an administrative portion of the selected host processor is identified. The selected host processor is initialized remotely over a wide area network via the administrative port without utilizing any software resources pre-existing at the data center. The initializing configures the selected host processor according to the configuration file to service the application requirement. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A device, system and method for changing a topology of a geographically distributed system is provided. One or more computing devices determine resource usage of an initial topology of a geographically distributed system that includes data stored at one or more initial locations and applications, that consume the data, being implemented at the one or more of initial locations. The computing device(s) determine projected resource usage of additional topologies of the geographically distributed system, the additional topologies defining respective locations, different from the one or more initial locations, where respective portions of the data and/or the applications are located. In response to an additional topology having a respective projected resource usage that is less than the resource usage of the initial topology, the computing device(s) control a respective portion of the data and/or the applications to move to the respective locations defined by the additional topology.

Abstract: A service orchestrator receives a definition of a change to a network service to be deployed over a plurality of sites of a communications network. The definition comprises a configuration schema with a plurality of fields, which are partitioned into a plurality of different configuration group types. The service orchestrator receives an instance of the configuration group type. The service orchestrator receives conditional convergence logic specifying the received instance each site is to use conditional on a current state instance of the configuration group type used at the site. The service orchestrator sends instructions to each of the sites based on the conditional convergence logic, the instructions comprising the received instance. The instructions are configured to trigger a site convergence agent at each site to deploy the change to the network service according to the received instance of the configuration group type and the conditional convergence logic.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for associating data message flows from applications executing on a host computer with network interfaces of the computer. The method of some embodiments identifies a set of applications operating on a machine executing on the host computer, identifies candidate teaming policies for associating each identified application with a subset of one or more interfaces, and generates a report to display the identified candidate teaming policies per application to a user. In response to user input selecting a first teaming policy for a first application, the method generates a rule, and distributes the rule, to the host computer to associate the first application with a first subset of the network interfaces specified by the first teaming policy. Similarly, in response to user input selecting a second teaming policy for a second application executing on the machine, the method generates a second rule, and distributes the second rule, to the host computer to associate the second application with a second subset of the network interfaces specified by the second teaming policy.

Abstract: In some examples an electronic device includes a sensor, and a controller to detect a proximity of a second electronic device via the sensor. In response to determining that the proximity is within a threshold distance, the controller causes transmission of context information to the second electronic device. The context information is generated based on a location, a time, an application executed by the second electronic device, or a combination thereof. In response to the transmission of the context information, the controller receives a first signal from the second electronic device, and, in response to the first signal, the controller causes transmission of a second signal, the second signal to enable coupling to the second electronic device.
