    摘要: An offset estimator (e.g., a time delay, a spatial image offset, etc.) makes use of a transform approach (e.g., using Fast Fourier Transforms). The sparse nature of a cross-correlation is exploited by limiting the computation required in either or both of the forward and inverse transforms. For example, only a subset of the transform values (e.g., a regular subsampling of the values) is used. In some examples, an inverse transform yields a time aliased version of the cross-correlation. Further processing then identifies the most likely offset of the original signals by considering offsets that are consistent with the aliased output.

    摘要: An interference cancellation method performed by a receiver includes: determining a strong interference code channel among all code channels that carry a received signal, and determining a signal that corresponds to the strong interference code channel to be a strong interference signal, wherein the received signal has been matched filtered. The method further includes obtaining a reconstructed strong interference signal based on the determined strong interference signal and using a system matrix, performing the interference cancellation for the received signal using the reconstructed strong interference signal, to obtain the signal without interference. The strong interference signal can be reconstructed using the system matrix, and the interference cancellation can be performed for the received signal using the reconstructed strong interference signal. The complexity of inverting the matrix is reduced and the performance is enhanced by reducing the order of the matrix, and thus increasing the efficiency of cancelling the interference.

    摘要: A receiving apparatus is provided in which a single carrier signal is received by a plurality of receiving antennas, and multipath equalization and other cell interference suppression are carried out in a frequency domain at a same time. A plurality of antennas 1-1 to 1-N receives the single carrier signal. The DFT sections 3-1 to 3-N converts the reception signals into frequency domain signals. A channel estimating section 5 estimates a channel gain of a desired user signal by using pilot reception signals. An interference correlation matrix estimating section 6 estimates an interference correlation matrix from the pilot reception signals and a channel estimation value. A weight calculating section. A weight calculating section 7 receives the channel estimates and the interference correlation matrix and calculates equalization weights. An equalizing section 8 performs multipath equalization and other cell interference suppression to the desired user signal in a frequency domain. An IDFT section 9 converts an equalization signal into a signal in a time domain.

    摘要: Teachings presented herein present a “whitening” channel estimation method and apparatus that produce high-quality net channel estimates for processing a received signal, such as a received CDMA signal. Processing includes forming an initial least squares problem (for medium channel estimates) using known pilot values and corresponding pilot observations for the received signal, transforming the initial least squares problem using a whitening transformation term, and solving the transformed least squares problem to obtain whitened medium channel estimates. The whitening transformation term may be determined, for example, by carrying out a Cholesky factorization of a (traffic) data correlation matrix, which can be obtained from traffic data values for the received signal. Processing further includes converting the whitened medium channel estimates into whitened net channel estimates, which consider the effects of transmit/receive filtering.
