摘要: A touch sensor with a sliding structure is disclosed. The touch sensor includes a first touch detecting plate, a second touch detecting plate, and a capacitance-to-digital converter. The first touch detecting plate includes a first tilt portion, and the second touch detecting plate includes a second tilt portion, wherein a bevel edge of the second tilt portion is parallel to a bevel edge of the first tilt portion. The first touch detecting plate and the second touch detecting plate form a parallelogram slide detecting area. The first touch detecting plate transmits a first detected capacitance, and the second touch detecting plate transmits a second detected capacitance. The capacitance-to-digital converter generates a sliding state detected value according to the first detected capacitance and the second detected capacitance.

摘要: A pattern wheel driver is provided. The pattern wheel driver includes a rotatable pattern wheel with patterned regions repeatedly formed on the pattern wheel. Each of the patterned regions has a plurality of patterns. Each of the plurality of patterns has a different width. The pattern wheel driver also includes a detector for detecting the plurality of patterns, mounted at a position where the patterned regions of the pattern wheel pass when the pattern wheel rotates. The pattern wheel driver also includes an encoder for producing a signal indicating whether the pattern wheel rotates in a forward direction or a reverse direction based on signals produced by the detector.

摘要: An apparatus and method for measuring displacement by determining the relative speed between a scale and a scanning plate from reading out a first track twice at different times. From this, correction values for the other tracks are calculated, which represent values from those tracks that would have been read out if all those tracks had been read out at the same time the first track was read out instead of sequentially.

摘要: An absolute position type of displacement detector employs multiple grating tracks. The pitches of the gratings in the respective tracks are set to be just slightly different so as to detect an absolute position from a small number of analog signals by a vernier. The number of tracks is set to be three or more so as to multiply the vernier, thereby enabling absolute position measurement in a wide measurement range.

摘要: An absolute encoder comprising a sensor array, a code plate arranged in opposition to the sensor array and having a plurality of blocks in the direction of normal displacement, each block having an address track and a fine reading track, and an arithmetic unit for processing data of the code plate detected by the sensor array. Each of the blocks of the code plate has a reference track, an address track and a fine reading track. The fine reading track of each block has fine reading patterns which change in a direction crossing said direction of normal displacement.

摘要: A position-to-digital encoder for generating digital signals in the form of binary code in accordance with the relative positions between a pair of brush contacts and a series of contacts arranged in order. The latter contacts are disposed in a row along the path of movement of the brush contacts, with equal pitches and gaps between adjacent contacts. The brush contacts are spaced from each other along their path of movement with such a distance that two brush contacts are in contact with a single one of the series of contacts or with an adjacent two of the series of contacts, respectively. One line extends from each contact to a decoder which generates signals in accordance with which contact or contacts of the contact series is engaged by the brush contacts. The decoder generates different signals in accordance with whether a single or double contact is engaged by the brush contacts so that (2n-1) different signals may be obtained as a function of the relative position between the brush, contacts and the series of contacts, where n is the number of the latter contacts.

摘要: Data acquired from a source such as a coded disc is processed so as to be free of ambiguities associated with boundary transitions where the data source produces groups of bits which have least significant ordering and higher significant ordering. Wherever a common transition boundary between the bit groups occurs, ambiguities from misalignment of these boundaries are avoided by controlling the higher ordered bit transitions from the lower ordered bit transitions. Circuitry tracks and stores the higher order bits by synchronous updating whenever no misalignment or skew sensitive transitions are encountered. Logic circuitry continuously inspects the lower significant bits to determine the presence or absence of a zone surrounding the common transition boundary and also detects the actual passage and direction of the transition boundary in the lower significant bit group. This logic corrects the counter stored higher order bit counts in conformity with the status of the lower significant bit states. The system output is a composite of the lower significant digits read directly and the controlled and updated higher significant digits with appropriate code conversion. Whenever the data source is an optical coded disc or the like, the data acquired can be enhanced by an arrangement of light collimating and focusing elements relative to the coded transparent/opaque areas of the disc cell tracks.
