摘要: Mating faces of a microchannel plate (MCP) (50) and a multi-layer ceramic body (80) unit are deposited with a thin film having protuberances (84) using a suitable metal selected for optimum diffusion at a desired temperatures and pressure. The metallized MCP (50) and multi-layer ceramic body (80) unit are then aligned and placed in a bonding fixture (F) that provides the necessary force applied to the components to initiate a diffusion bond at a desired elevated temperature. The bonding fixture (F) is then placed in a vacuum heat chamber (V) to accelerate the diffusion bonding process between the MCP (50) and the multi-layer ceramic body unit (80).

摘要: A porous ceramic substrate structure (10) having an interior portion (12) formed with an outer surface (14) is porous to at least one selected gas (16). A first ceramic coating layer (18) is applied to the outer surface (14) of the ceramic substrate structure (10) in a suspension state. The first ceramic coating suspension (20) has a desired level of viscosity for application to the substrate and is formed with a ceramic electrolyte powder and at least one organic additive. A second ceramic coating layer (22) is applied to the outer surface (14) following application of the first coating (18). The second coating (22) is initially applied after the first coating (18) and in a suspension state. The ceramic layers (18 and 22) substantially prevent gas leakage through the outer surface (14).

摘要: A method and system for fusing image data includes an electronic circuit (L) for synchronizing image frames. An adaptive lookup table unit (302a, 302b) receives the image frame data sets and applies correction factors to individual pixels. The size of an image is then scaled or otherwise manipulated as desired by data formatting processors (312a and 312b). Multiple images communicated within parallel circuit branches (P1 and P2) are aligned and registered together with sub-pixel resolution.

摘要: A wedge-shaped microresonator is provided that can be mounted proximate one or more wedge-shaped electro-optic components in order to construct a densely packed microlaser assembly. The wedge-shaped microresonator has first, second and third side surfaces. The wedge-shaped microresonator includes a passive Q-switch proximate the second side surface and an active gain medium proximate portions of the first and third side surfaces. The wedge-shaped microresonator also includes a reflective surface proximate each of the first, second and third side surfaces. At least one of the reflective surfaces is partially reflective, however, to then permit emission of laser signals. In addition to the wedge-shaped microresonator, a microlaser assembly is provided that also includes at least one wedge-shaped electro-optic component for receiving and modifying the laser pulses emitted by the wedge-shaped microresonator. As a result of the wedge-shape of the microresonator and the electro-optic components, the microlaser assembly can be packed relatively densely.

摘要: The present invention advantageously provides a cost effective flat rotor for a pancake type slip ring. A flat copper coil sheet is stamped into a corrugated shape having concentric V-ring grooves. The corrugated stamped copper foil sheet is bonded using a bonding agent to a dielectric layer. Multiple concentric V-grooves are formed by separating the grooves, for example, by machining the grooves at an apex thereof in order to form separate electrical circuits. A corresponding plurality of holes extend through each concentric ring and through the dielectric layer from the first side through the second side. A conductive material is placed in each of the plurality of holes to electrically connect each concentric ring to the second side.

摘要: Disclosed herein are lubricated assemblies, more specifically bearings, wherein use is made of spiralling channels or equivalent arrangements which urge lubricant into the area where it is needed, such as the bearing gap. The invention proposes the use of such properly oriented spiralling grooves in conjunction with a displaceable separator between the two movable elements of the assembly, thereby to arrive at a lubricated assembly, such as a bearing, which is operable in either one of two opposite senses of motion, which may be the two senses of rotation of a bearing.

摘要: A ballast for starting and operating a high intensity discharge type lamp is disclosed which incorporates electronic switching elements in one form. The apparatus includes a winding on a magnetic core having at least one tap. A lamp is adapted for connection to the output of the winding and a series circuit of a resistor and a capacitor are connected in parallel of the lamp. A capacitor are connected in parallel of the lamp. A capacitor and a semiconductor control rectifier are connected in series to the tap and diode is connected in shunt of the semiconductor controlled rectifier poled oppositely thereto. A diac is connected to the first capacitor and to the gate electrode of said semiconductor controlled rectifier for triggering the controlled rectifier when the voltage on the capacitor reaches a predetermined level. Suitably the resistor and capacitor circuit is adjusted so that the desired triggering level occurs when the instantaneous AC voltage is at or near a peak level.
