Abstract:
An example method includes receiving, from a first playback device of a playback system, a message indicating a first zone configuration, the first zone configuration including at least a first zone associated with at least the first playback device and a second zone associated with at least a second playback device of the playback system; displaying, based on the first zone configuration, at least a first representation corresponding to the first zone and a second representation corresponding to the second zone; receiving an input to form a zone group including each playback device of the playback system; based on the input, transmitting to a third playback device of the playback system, a message indicating a second zone configuration, the second zone configuration comprising a zone group associated with each playback device of the system; and displaying, based on the second zone configuration, a third representation corresponding to the zone group.
Abstract:
In general, techniques of controlling a plurality of multimedia players in groups are disclosed. According to one aspect of the present invention, a mechanism is provided to allow a user to group some of the players according to a theme or scene, where each of the players is located in a zone. When the scene is activated, the players in the scene react in a synchronized manner. For example, the players in the scene are all caused to play a multimedia source or music in a playlist, wherein the multimedia source may be located anywhere on a network.
Abstract:
An audio loudness control system includes a loudness adjuster module configured to adjust a level of an audio signal based on parameters associated with the audio signal. The parameters may include identification of a source of the audio signal. The parameters associated with the audio signal may be provided to the loudness adjuster in a message associated with the audio signal. The audio loudness control system may also include a database in communication with the loudness adjuster module. The loudness adjuster module may be configured to extract loudness related settings or parameters from the database that are associated with a source of the audio signal.
Abstract:
Systems and methods to control a plurality of multimedia players in one or more groups are disclosed. For example, in a network including a plurality of independent playback devices, an example method includes maintaining, by an independent playback device, a zone configuration, the zone configuration characterizing one or more zone scenes. Each zone scene identifies a group configuration associated with two or more of the plurality of independent playback devices. The example method includes transmitting, by the independent playback device via a network interface, the zone configuration to a controller device. Additionally, an example playback device is disclosed which is configured to maintain a zone configuration, the zone configuration characterizing one or more zone scenes, each zone scene identifying a group configuration associated with two or more of a plurality of independent playback devices; and transmit, via a network interface, the zone configuration to a controller device.
Abstract:
An example method includes displaying zone names via a display interface. Each zone name represents a respective particular zone of a plurality of zones, and each zone contains at least one player configured for multimedia playback in that zone. The method includes displaying playback selections including a first playback selection that identifies first multimedia content for playback by the first zone and a second playback selection that identifies second multimedia content for playback by the second zone. The method includes receiving a command for a zone group to play one of the first playback selection or the second playback selection. The method includes transmitting a zone group configuration to one of the first zone and the second zone. The zone group configuration includes instructions to facilitate synchronized playback, between the first zone and the second zone, of the identified one of the first playback selection and the second playback selection.
Abstract:
According to an aspect, an electronic device includes: a piezoelectric element; a sound generating unit that is vibrated by the piezoelectric element and generates a vibration sound to be transmitted while vibrating part of a human body; and a detection unit that detects contact of the part of the human body with the sound generating unit. A volume of the vibration sound is changed corresponding to a detection result of the detection unit.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for selectively provide an automatic volume adjustment service considering an audio output signal in an electronic device. A method for adjusting a volume includes identifying a second signal which is output through a speaker while a first signal is input through a microphone, and determining whether a volume of an audio signal to be output through the speaker is increased, based on a correlation between the first signal and the second signal.
Abstract:
Techniques for controlling the volumes of multiple audio output devices using a collective (master) volume control and an individual volume control for each audio output device. In one set of embodiments, each individual volume control can be configured to indicate the current absolute volume level of its corresponding audio output device. When the master volume control is manually adjusted, the individual volume controls can be automatically adjusted in a manner proportional to the manual adjustment of the master volume control. In addition, when an individual volume control is manually adjusted to a setting or value that exceeds the master volume control, the master volume control can be automatically adjusted to be equal to, or greater than, the manually adjusted setting for the individual volume control. In this scenario, the other individual volume controls can remain unchanged.
Abstract:
This audio signal output device includes an audio signal output portion, a volume setting information acquisition portion, and a control portion acquiring maximum volume information of volume information of an audio signal of content. The control portion is configured to calculate the maximum output volume of an external device on the basis of the maximum volume information of the content and volume setting information of the external device and perform control of lowering the output volume of the external device when the maximum output volume is higher than a prescribed volume threshold.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to implement receiver linearity enhancement are described. One example method includes controlling receiver gain by determining a level of a received signal that is to be provided to a radio frequency component; determining if the level of the received signal would cause the radio frequency components internally generated noise to increase; and when the level of the received signal would cause the radio frequency components internally generated noise to increase, reducing the level of the received signal prior to providing the received signal to the radio frequency component.
