摘要: A high frequency apparatus includes an input terminal 21, a high frequency filter 22 to which a signal input into the input terminal 21 is supplied, a mixer 24, one input of which an output signal of the high frequency filter 22 is supplied to and an other input of which an output signal of a local oscillator 23 is supplied to, an intermediate frequency filter 25 to which an output signal of the mixer 24 is supplied, an output terminal 27 to which an output signal of the intermediate frequency filter 25 is supplied, and an electronic switch 30. The electronic switch is provided in the vicinity of the intermediate frequency filter 25, for making a passband characteristic of the intermediate frequency filter 25 substantially flat by closing both contacts, wherein opening and closing of the electronic switch 30 is controlled externally. Accordingly, the adjusting error of the high frequency filter can be reduced.

摘要: A novel mixer of good noise performance for operation at microwave frequencies (e.g. the 22 GHz communications band) is disclosed. The mixer comprises a waveguide to which signals and local oscillations are coupled, and from which the intermediate frequency output is derived. The principal circuitry is provided on a metallized substrate set within the waveguide in a "finline" construction. The metallized substrate performs the essential functions of impedance matching the mixer to the source of signal and local oscillations, a bridge for isolating the signal port from local oscillations and for isolating the LO port from the signal, and means to adjust the application of signal and load to the mixer diodes for optimum signal conversion. The noise figure achieved is approximately 4 db at 22 GHz, and represents an improvement over known competitive designs.

摘要: A millimeter wave printed circuit mixer is disclosed which has extended RFnd IF bandwidths. A dual ridge waveguide to slotline transition is utilized to bring the RF signal into the device. The waveguide to slotline transition is terminated in first and second shorted RF slotlines formed on the bottom of a dielectric substrate and extending from the RF slotline. A microstrip LO bandpass filter terminating in a microstrip line is formed on the dielectric substrate and is utilized to bring the local oscillator signal to the device. First and second beam lead diodes are connected from the microstrip line through apertures in the dielectric substrate and thence are connected across the dual shorted RF slotlines and connected to the ground plane conductor on the underside of the dielectric substrate. An IF filter is formed on the dielectric substrate and connected to the microstrip line for removing the IF signal from the device. The dielectric substrate and the elements formed on the substrate are enclosed within a waveguide housing.

摘要: A balanced microwave mixer for converting a microwave input signal to an intermediate frequency output using a microwave carrier as a local oscillator signal with the two microwave signals combined and divided out through two signal carrier lines via a hybrid ''''rat race'''' circuit ring. The two signal carrier lines are connected respectively one to the anode of a mixer diode and the other to the cathode of another mixer diode the opposite IF side electrodes of which are dc circuit interconnected via IF output circuitry connected thereto. Harmonic suppression filters are employed both at the inputs and outputs of the mixer diodes, and input signal quarter wavelength long outer end grounded stubs are also provided closely adjacent the mixer diodes on the RF signal input sides thereof. Low impedance RF termination stubs are provided at the diode IF outputs with each connected to an IF combining RF reactive onequarter RF signal wavelength long stub through high impedance lines of similar length and, further, a high impedance line of similar length interconnects the IF combining stub to an RF rejection filter in turn connected to an IF amplifier.

The receiver includes a demodulator and at least one filtering mechanism coupled to the demodulator, and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) coupled to the filtering mechanism. 摘要: A frequency converter employs a balanced bridge mixer of switching elements such as field-effect transistors (FETs) with a local oscillator supplying control signals to gate terminals of the transistors. A carrier at intermediate frequency (IF) or at radio frequency (RF) is modulated for communication of data, and is applied to alternate nodes of the bridge. The remaining bridge nodes supply output signals to respective branches of an output circuit. Each branch of the output circuit is provided with a bandpass filter having a spectral characteristic corresponding to the spectral characteristic of a specific one of plural output signals to be outputted via the branch. Each branch may contain an active element, such as an amplifier, which is activated for outputting a signal, and which is deactivated for when node signal is to be outputted. A switchable impedance circuit is included within each of the branches to present a substantially constant impedance characteristic to the bridge, independently of whether the bridge amplifier is activated or deactivated. The local oscillator may provide plural frequencies, as by use of a variable-frequency oscillator or by use of plural oscillators, to place an output signal within the frequency band of a specific one of the output branches.

摘要: A wideband enhancement sum mixer is shown to comprise a pair of matched GaAs diodes operative with a printed circuit wherein a portion of at least the sum signal, i.e., the sum of a radio frequency signal and a local oscillator signal, is caused to be mixed with the second harmonic of the local oscillator signal to produce an intermediate frequency signal in phase with the intermediate frequency signal resulting from mixing of the radio frequency signal and the local oscillator signal.
