Abstract: A method of manufacturing a contact element for modelling electrical circuits, in which a sheet metal blank is stamped to obtain a hollow formed workpiece (1) having an inner hollow body (2) with a bottom (3), a shoulder (4), a support platform (5) for connecting wire, said support platform having sides (7) and (8), wherein an electroplated metal coating is applied onto the hollow formed workpiece (1), said hollow formed workpiece (1) is placed in an injection mold, an outer casing (9) is formed by filling the mold with a polymer material under pressure creating the outer casing (9) on the outside of the hollow body (2), and a permanent magnet (10) is pressed into the hollow (11) of the body (2).

Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a first connector including a first housing portion having top and bottom surfaces and a second connector including a second housing portion having top and bottom surfaces. The second housing portion has a form factor substantially corresponding to a form factor of the first housing portion. A circuit board having top and bottom surfaces is permanently coupled to the first housing portion and to the second housing portion such that a first portion of the bottom surface of the circuit board contacts at least a portion of the top surface of the first housing portion and a second portion of the bottom surface of the circuit board contacts at least a portion of the top surface of the second housing portion. A contact assembly is coupled to the first housing portion and electrically and directly engages a portion of the bottom surface of the circuit board.

Abstract: A smart switching charger and a power connection device thereof are disclosed. The smart switching charger includes a socket a plug and a DC power line. The socket is mounted to a power device to acquire electricity therefrom and includes a first contact group. The plug includes a second contact group corresponding to the first contact group. At least one of the first and second contact groups is magnetic to the first contact group attracting to the second contact group. When the first contact group attracts to the second contact group, the plug acquires electricity from the socket. The DC power line connects with the plug for transmitting electricity to electrical devices. Such configuration may obtain a reliable electrical connection between the socket and the plug through magnetic adsorption. A simple and convenient operation of connecting the socket and the plug is obtained, and lifespan of the charger is improved.

Abstract: There is disclosed magnetic connectors and electronic devices including such connectors. A connector may include a magnet rotatable about at least one axis of the magnet; wherein the magnet rotates to magnetically engage a magnet of another connector to form an electrical connection between the two magnets. A connector may also include a cylindrical magnet to magnetically engage a magnet of another connector; and a sleeve wrapped around at least part of the magnet, the sleeve comprising a contact for forming an electrical connection with a contact on the other connector. A connector may be adapted for selective connection with other connectors. A connector may be adapted such that a moveable magnet may move between an engaged position proximate a contacting surface of the connector and a disengaged position recessed from a contacting surface, wherein the moveable magnet is biased to the disengaged position.

Abstract: Electrical connectors, electrical modules, and systems are provided. In one aspect, an electrical connector includes a housing defining a side surface, an electrical conductor supported by the housing and including an engagement portion proximate the side surface of the housing. The connector also includes a magnet supported by the housing proximate the side surface of the housing, a projection extending from the side surface of the housing, and a receptacle defined in the side surface of the housing. In other aspects, an electrical module includes at least one of these electrical connectors. In further aspects, a system includes a plurality of these modules and the modules are selectively couplable together.

Abstract: A kitchen appliance operable by electric motor includes a housing, which has an outer surface, and a data transmission interface designed to interact with a data memory element. The data transmission interface is formed in an outer surface of the housing by metal contact elements, which are arranged adjacent to each other and which each have a contact surface and form part of the outer surface. Further, a combination of a kitchen appliance operable by electric motor and a data memory element, which can be detachably connected to the kitchen appliance, can transmit data of the data memory element to the kitchen appliance while the data memory element is connected to the kitchen appliance. Further, a combination of a kitchen appliance operable by electric motor and a data memory element, which can be handled as an individual part, can bring the data memory element into contact with the kitchen appliance for data exchange.

Abstract: A twist-lock electrical connector includes first and second connector portions each having a respective interface end portion and longitudinal axes. The first connector has a projection and the second connector has a corresponding bore along the connectors' respective longitudinal axes. Two electrical contacts are located at opposite sides of the projection at the first interface end portion, and two other electrical contacts are located at opposite sides of the bore at the second interface end portion. The interface end portions are configured to engage one another at a first rotational orientation in which the bore receives the projection when the first and second longitudinal axes are made substantially coaxial and the connector portions are brought together along their axes. The interface end portions further engage one another at a second rotational orientation in which the first pair of electrical contacts electrically engage the second pair of electrical contacts.
