摘要: A phased array antenna includes multiple antenna elements where each antenna element is an antenna apparatus that includes an antenna integrated with a filter. Each antenna apparatus includes a plurality of resonators where at least some of the resonators are each enclosed in a metal cavity and at least one resonator is exposed to free space to form a radiator element. Each antenna apparatus has a filter transfer function that is at least partially determined by dimensions of the radiator element and the position of the radiator element within the antenna apparatus. The scan volume of the phased array antenna is dependent on at least one physical dimension of the filter of the antenna apparatus.

摘要: A small antenna has two or more feeding ports. A radiator is made of a planar conductor having a substantially circular shape having the diameter of a substantially half wavelength or a substantially regularly polygonal shape where the length of a diagonal line passes through the center point is the substantially half wavelength. A ground plate is faced to the radiator. On the radiator, the feeding ports are connected to feeding points on two orthogonal line segments passing through the center of the radiator. This antenna is used as not only a single antenna but also two independent antennas having secured isolation between the feeding ports. A small antenna device used as two independent antennas is thus provided. The radiator is formed in a hat shape having an edge, has an Stepped Impedance Resonator (SIR) structure where the diameter of a crest part is a quarter wavelength, and is shortened.

摘要: A device for microstrip distribution networks and for group antennas for the suppression of unwanted modes on the distribution network side of a microstrip distribution network. This thereby avoids, among other things, unwanted coupling between antenna elements connected to the microstrip distribution network. A waveguide substructure in principle designed as a U of extruded aluminium, is connected to the microstrip distribution network along two connection lines with at least two electrically-conductive connections to the ground plane of the microstrip distribution network along each connection line. Together with at least part of the ground plane, the waveguide substructure forms a waveguide structure. The waveguide structure is dimensioned so that it has a cut-off frequency that is higher than the highest frequency that is used in the microstrip distribution network. This suppresses unwanted modes generated by the group antenna and by discontinuities in the distribution network as the waveguide structure acts as a high-pass filter.
