摘要: A sensor has an antenna. The antenna includes a radiation source and a wave guide. The radiation source is formed on a substrate. The wave guide internally propagates electromagnetic waves radiated from the radiation source and radiates the electromagnetic waves as a beam. The wave guide has a radiation-side opening in which a first direction and a second direction are orthogonal to each other, and the second direction is longer than the first direction. In a cross-sectional shape of the beam, perpendicular to a radiation direction of the beam radiated from the wave guide, a first direction and a second direction are orthogonal to each other, and the second direction is narrower than the first direction.

摘要: A microwave antenna for use in a sectorized cellular communication system comprises a wide-flare pyramidal horn having two pairs of opposed flared side walls. At least one of the two pairs of opposed walls has corrugated interior surfaces. The length of the horn and the flare angle of the walls having the corrugated interior surfaces are selected to produce a ratio &Dgr;e/&lgr; greater than 1.5, where &Dgr;e/&lgr;=[a/(2/&lgr;)] tan (&agr;e/2) is the spherical-wave error of said horn, &lgr; is the free space wavelength of the microwave signals to be transmitted by said antenna, &agr; is the horn's aperture width, and &agr;e the half-angle of the horn in the horizontal plane.

摘要: An antenna feedhorn comprising a transition waveguide for matching the cross section of the feeder line to the cross section of a subsequent hybrid mode exciting section followed by a horn section with an elliptical aperture, and with the hybrid mode exciting section and the horn section each being provided with a corrugated structure. The hybrid mode exciting section has a circular cross section and the horn section has a cross section which steadily widens from the circular cross section of the hybrid mode exciting section to the elliptical cross section of the horn aperture.

摘要: This invention is a corrugated horn antenna in which the corrugated surfaces of the antenna are formed by V-shaped slots. The depth of the slots is between 0.3125 and 0.625 wavelengths. For this range of depths the surface impedance is capacitive and operates in a cut-off mode. The V-shaped corrugated slots are more easily machined than previous slots and the resulting antenna is readily adaptable to unfurlable antennas for space applications.

摘要: A single-piece corrugated component, such as a feed horn, of an antenna includes a main body having a generally hollowed truncated pyramidal or conical shape which defines a body axis. The body extends from a base to an aperture, and includes a plurality of corrugations centered about the body axis, respectively. Each corrugation has a frustopyramidal ridge extending inwardly and locally perpendicularly from an inner surface of the main body at a ridge angle relative to the body axis varying between 10-60 degrees in a direction either toward the first end or the second end. A plurality of the frustopyramidal ridges have a respective inward virtual extension thereof crossing the body axis before intersecting the main body. A method of manufacturing the corrugated component includes the step of printing the component using an additive manufacturing technology.
