    摘要: The invention relates to a cylindrical AAA alkaline dry battery including: a positive terminal protruding from one end face of the alkaline dry battery; a negative terminal protruding from the other end face; and an external label covering the alkaline dry battery. The diameter Dp (mm) and protruding height Hp (mm) of the positive terminal and the diameter Dn (mm) and protruding height Hn (mm) of the negative terminal satisfy the relation (1): 2.5≦Dn−Dp≦4.1 (1), and the relation (2): 0.8≦Hp−Hn≦1.1 (2). This permits easy and reliable identification of the polarities of the terminals, making it possible to provide a cylindrical AAA alkaline dry battery which is unlikely to be installed reversely.

    摘要: An electrochemical cell with a blended zinc powder is disclosed. The blended zinc powder includes selected portions of a first zinc powder and a second zinc powder. In a preferred embodiment, the first and second powders are divided into groups based on ranges in their particle size distribution. Particle characteristics such as roughness and elongation are used to selected groups of both powders that are combined to produce the blended zinc powder. The blended zinc powders enable battery manufacturers to maximize the cell's run time while minimizing the cost of the zinc.

    摘要: An electrochemical cell with a blended zinc powder is disclosed. The blended zinc powder includes selected portions of a first zinc powder and a second zinc powder.     摘要: An AA alkaline dry battery includes a bottomed cylindrical casing of which internal volume is 6.25 ml or larger and which accommodates a positive electrode containing manganese dioxide of 9.30 g or more, a negative electrode containing zinc, and electrolyte containing an aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide of which concentration is 33.5 wt % or lower; a sealing member sealing the casing; and a negative electrode current collector extending from the sealing member into the negative electrode. The dry battery has, as discharge characteristics in the middle rate current discharge (AA dry batter), discharge duration until the battery voltage becomes 0.9 V is 9.3 hours or longer where discharge at 250 mA is performed at 25° C. for one hour per day.

    摘要: Electrochemical cells, and particularly a current collector assembly for a cell that forms an electrically conductive path between a cell electrode and a terminal of the cell, are described, along with a method for manufacturing the same. The current collector includes a non-conductive core and a conductive outer surface layer disposed on the core and shaped as en elongated rod. A seal hub gasket for sealing the open end of a cell container and for venting gasses when exposed to excessive pressure is also described. The method of manufacturing a cell includes the deposition of a non-carbonaceous conductive material on a non-conductive core, with the resulting current collector being inserted into a cell to maintain electrical connection between the electrode and the container/contact terminal.

    摘要: The present invention discloses an alkaline dry cell with a high capacity having a superior liquid leak resistant property. In this alkaline dry cell, the thickness of the trunk portion of an external can is made thinner than 0.18 mm, and the thickness of the sealing edge portion of the external can is set to not less than 1.4 times the thickness of trunk portion. An anode terminal plate is used as a supporting member for a sealing member. Over the entire outer circumferential portion of the anode terminal plate is placed a curved portion having an average curvature radius of not more than 1 mm, which shows a virtually C-letter shape or an arc shape in its cross-section obtained by cutting the anode terminal plate through its center in the thickness direction.
