    摘要: A transmission type photocathode includes a light absorption layer 1 formed of diamond or a material containing diamond as a main component, a supporting frame 21 for reinforcing the mechanical strength of the light absorption layer 1, a first electrode 31 provided at the plane of incidence of the light absorption layer 1, and a second electrode 32 provided at the plane of emission of the light absorption layer 1. A voltage is applied between the plane of incidence and plane of emission of the light absorption layer 1 to form an electric field in the light absorption layer 1. When light to be detected is made incident and photoelectrons occur in the light absorption layer 1, the photoelectrons are accelerated to the plane of emission by the electric field formed in the light absorption layer 1, and emitted to the outside of the transmission type photocathode.

    摘要: A direct conversion X-ray photo-electron cathode has specially designed secondary electron emission layers which provides high efficiency, low noise, high speed and broad band X-ray photon detection. The X-ray photocathode is integrated with a micro channel plate and an output phosphor display screen to form a panel type X-ray intensifier. The X-ray intensifier is combined with a micro-focus X-ray source to provide projection type X-ray microscope for use in X-ray microscopic diagnostic applications.

    摘要: An X-ray image intensifier tube includes a scintillator screen for converting ionizing radiation into light radiation or near-visible radiation, a microchannel array for achieving electron multiplication, and a photoelectrode positioned directly on an input face of the microchannel array. The input face of the microchannel array is coated with an electrically conductive layer which directly contacts the photocathode. The present design eliminates strict spacing requirements between the photocathode and the microchannel array and allows the photocathode and the microchannel array to operate at a single potential rather than requiring separate potentials. The requirement of a separate support for the scintillator screen is also obviated since the scintillator screen is formed on the input face of the microchannel array.
