Abstract:
An electrical switch, including an insulation base, an insulative-and-movable component, at least two output ports, and at least two transmission ports, is provided. The insulative-and-movable component is disposed on the insulation base and is adapted to operate between at least two switch positions relative to the insulation base. The two output ports are disposed on the insulation base. The two transmission ports are disposed on the insulative-and-movable component. When the insulative-and-movable component is located at one of the two switch positions, one of the two output ports is aligned with one of the two transmission ports and other one of the two output ports is misaligned with other one of the two transmission ports.
Abstract:
A self-blast electric interrupter device, such as a circuit breaker or a disconnector, the device comprising: a first contact and a second contact that are movable between a closed position in which they press against each other, and an open position in which they are spaced apart from each other; and an arc-control chamber surrounding the two contacts in order to define a space that is closed in the closed position. At least one of the contacts includes a central channel opening out towards the other contact in order to enable gas coming from the arc-control chamber during an opening stage to be discharged. According to the invention, the other contact carries an insulating member that ablates under the effect of an electric arc forming in the arc-control chamber in order to give rise to a large and fast increase of pressure within the chamber.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a quick arc-breaking circuit-breaker, comprising two electrode contacts for switching on and switching off a circuit, and a plurality of partition plates arranged between the two electrode contacts and configured in such a way that, when the two electrode contacts are separated, the partition plates are inserted at the fastest speed between the two electrode contacts, to quickly break the arc and stop burning. As the partition plates of the quick arc-breaking circuit-breaker are inserted between the two electrode contacts from different directions, the breaking and insulating speed is accelerated, the isolation and sealing effects between the two electrode contacts are enhanced, and the insulation and arc extinguishing effects of the circuit-breaker are thus improved. The circuit-breaker of the invention has a simple structure and a low manufacturing cost.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a single- or multi-pole switching device, in particular for DC applications, having at least one rotating switching element (2) which is connected to a drive, and also comprising switching contacts (4, 5), connection pieces (7) and connection poles or connection terminals (8) and a housing arrangement which accommodates the abovementioned parts. According to the invention, a movably guided rotary cylinder (2) is formed in the housing arrangement, said rotary cylinder being located in a body which is designed as a rotary cylinder holder (1). The rotary cylinder (2) has at least one contact pin (3) which passes radially or tangentially or eccentrically through the rotary cylinder and has, at its end, a contact piece (4) in each case. Mating contact pieces (5) are arranged in the rotary cylinder holder (1), said mating contact pieces being electrically connected to the connection pieces (7) or connection poles or connection terminals (8). A narrow, arc-influencing gap is present between the rotary cylinder (2) and the rotary cylinder holder (1), wherein, as a result of the movement of the rotary cylinder (2), the electrical connection between the contact pieces (4) and the mating contact pieces (5) can be broken by way of the contact pin (3) and the resulting disconnection arcs (11) enter the air gap subject to an extension and are rapidly extinguished there.
Abstract:
A contact bus bar assembly for supplying power to a load, and further pertains to a switching device which can be connected to such a compact bus bar assembly, and to a power distribution system. The bus bar assembly includes at least two electrically conductive tracks which are at least partly covered by an electrically insulating cover. An outer surface of said insulating cover is provided with a plurality of ribs arranged in a region connecting pin terminals. The switching device may additionally comprise a separating element provided with a plurality of second ribs.
Abstract:
A three-phase disconnect switch for a power distribution system that supplies three-phase power from a source through a main circuit breaker to multiple three-phase feeder circuits, includes three pairs of contacts adapted for connection to the three phase lines of a selected one of the feeder circuits for opening and closing each of the phase lines, and a movable actuator associated with the three pairs of contacts and responsive to a signal indicating the occurrence of an arcing fault in the selected feeder circuit for initially creating a short circuit across the three phase lines of the feeder circuit and then opening the contacts.
Abstract:
A high speed switch usable at high voltage includes a pair of contacts movable apart along a fixed line. When the contacts are normally interconnected, at least one of them contributes to the definition of an enclosed chamber. Pressurization of the chamber by the ignition of a power cartridge therein rapidly drives the contacts apart, forming a first gap between them. When the contacts are interconnected, a first one of them is electrically connected to a terminal. As the contacts move apart, a second gap forms between the first contact and the terminal. The second gap is electrically insulated and may both be shielded from the ignition products of the cartridge and have any arc forming therein constricted and subjected to arc-extinguishing gas. The contacts may be shunted by a fuse to which current is commutated after the contacts move apart.
Abstract:
A compressed-gas electrical breaker, is disclosed in the switching chamber of which are arranged a compression space, a fixed contact, a movable contact and a blasting device connected with the movable contact. A movable nozzle body, designed as a blast piston is connected with the movable contact, and operates in conjunction with a spring-loaded shield. The spring-loaded shield is movably guided on the stationary contact and is adapted to be displaced by the nozzle body from the open position of the breaker in which the shield covers the stationary contact to the closed position of the breaker in which the shield engages the nozzle member to seal the compression space of the breaker.
