    摘要: A protective switch for protecting a circuit includes an operating element or rocker switch, contact connections projecting from a housing, a contact spring electrically connected to a first contact connection and having a free end covering a second contact connection for making contact. A bimetallic element in the housing runs transversely to a slider longitudinal direction and is electrically connected between the first contact connection and through the contact spring to the second contact connection. A slider slides in the housing and has a contact end bearing against and acting upon the contact spring counter to its restoring force in a contact position. The slider is latched by the operating element in a turned-on position. The bimetallic element is coupled to the slider for thermal tripping and has a first longitudinal section at least partly covering and unlatching the slider upon overcurrent to break contact, and a second longitudinal section.

Therefore, the switch shaft (26) can move in response to an inclination restoration operation of the switch knob (22). Further, the switch shaft (26) has movement in the lateral direction regulated by a guide rail (17), which makes it possible to always exert pressing force vertically with respect to a tact switch (25). Moreover, a region where the tact switch (25) is pressed from the switch shaft (26) is constituted by a resilient member, which means that there is no striking noise when the switch shaft (26) strikes the tact switch (25), and it is possible to provide a switch unit that is quiet at the time of operation.

    摘要: The sealed toggle action switch comprises an operating lever having a front operating arm projecting out of the front component of the casing. The lever has a rear arm, projecting into the casing and carrying a contactor plate for relative sliding and swinging movement. A coil spring is received around the rear arm and is compressed between the contactor plate and the front sealing flange of a soft resilient sealing boot, such sealing flange being compressed against the operating lever. The boot has a rear, outwardly projecting sealing flange which is retained between the front and rear casing components. The contactor plate has a pair of J-shaped flanges which are slidably engageable with first and second fixed contacts having forwardly projecting protuberances, affording a detent action with the J-shaped flanges. In one position of the operating lever, the J-shaped flanges of the contactor plate engage both of the first and second contacts. In the second positon of the operating lever, one of the J-shaped flanges is held out of engagement with the second contact by a pair of insulating ramps on the rear casing component. The first fixed contact preferably comprises a contact plate having forwardly projecting contact flanges affording protuberances or humps, over which one of th J-shaped flanges is movable when the contactor plate is moved between its first and second positions. In one position of the operating lever, the front operating arm is adapted to retain the end fitting of a safety lanyard. In this position, the front arm engages tabs which assist in retaining the end fitting of the lanyard.

    摘要: A toggle type electric switch includes a first centrally mounted electrical terminal positioned to support a roller member, which defines a translatable pivot axis of an essentially elongate bridging contact which rides on the roller member. A spring loaded plunger-toggle mechanism cooperates with the roller member to define a over-center switching mechanism whereby the bridging contact may selectively engage and disengage a second fixed terminal to establish electrical contact therewith. The effect of the spring loaded plunger member operates to retain the roller member in one position during make of the switch components and shift the roller member for the break of the switch components. In this manner, the make and break surfaces of the mating switch components are different. Therefore, the electric arc contamination that builds up during the component break does not contaminate the surfaces of the switch components that engage during the make cycle, leaving the make surfaces of the components free of arc contamination, corrosion, or other foreign matter. Immediately following the make, the bridging contact member slides along the engaging terminal surface to wipe the mating surfaces clean of any contamination that has occurred since last being wiped clean during the previous make cycle.

    摘要: A pivoted operator d(4) for an electric switch has an inwardly extending actuating leg (4d) having direct connection with a contactor (12) to provide over-center pivoting and sliding motion for the contactor. The inner end of the actuating leg has a first slot (4f) wherein the actuator leg straddles the contactor and has grooved (4h) interior surfaces which receive outward lateral projections (12a) on the contactor for affecting a driving connection therebetween. The depending leg has a cylindrical recess (4e) which receives a helical compression spring (14) to bear between the operator and the contactor. Transversely aligned connection points (12a, 4h) actuator and contactor and the edges of the slot (4f) in the actuator cooperating with the lateral edges of the contactor (12) guide the latter throughout its longitudinal movement to prevent angular displacement in a horizontal plane of the contactor within the switch.

    摘要: A switch construction including opposed contacts positioned on a base and a bridging contactor slidable between different switch positions. The design of the contacts on the base includes an upper section defining a first surface engageable by a tab formed on the sliding contactor. Second surface portions offset relative to the first surface provide engagement with shoulders defined by the sliding contactor. Resilient means press the sliding contactor against this upper section in a fashion such that the shoulders operate to limit the movement of the sliding contactor. The separate engagement of the tab and shoulders provide separate available current paths for the switch.
