摘要: A speaker comprises a housing, a transducer residing inside the housing, and at least one sound guiding hole located on the housing. The transducer generates vibrations. The vibrations produce a sound wave inside the housing and cause a leaked sound wave spreading outside the housing from a portion of the housing. The at least one sound guiding hole guides the sound wave inside the housing through the at least one sound guiding hole to an outside of the housing. The guided sound wave interferes with the leaked sound wave in a target region. The interference at a specific frequency relates to a distance between the at least one sound guiding hole and the portion of the housing.

摘要: One embodiment provides a method, the method including: detecting, at an audio provision system including at least one audio output device, an initiation of audio being provided via the at least one audio output device to a user; identifying and tracking, using at least one sensor of the audio provision system, a location of the user with respect to the at least one audio output device; and directing, using the audio provision system, audio provided by the at least one audio output device to the user, wherein the directing includes adjusting, based upon the location of the user, at least one attribute of the at least one audio output device, wherein the adjusting includes iteratively adjusting the at least one attribute as the location of the user changes. Other aspects are described and claimed.

摘要: In one embodiment, there is provided an asymmetrical acoustic horn. The asymmetrical acoustic horn includes a single acoustic waveguide. The single acoustic waveguide includes a first asymmetrical horn section configured to support one or more first acoustic transducers, and a second asymmetrical horn section configured to support one or more second acoustic transducers, the one or more second acoustic transducers having a different frequency range than the one or more first acoustic transducers. The first asymmetrical horn section and the second asymmetrical horn section are contiguous with each other and are configured to separate respective ones of the one or more first acoustic transducers from corresponding ones of the one or more second acoustic transducers by a corresponding one or more predetermined and fixed distances.

摘要: A novel fire control and extinguishing method intended for a Fire Suppression System. This system can be mounted statically, deployed from a vehicle, or incorporated into a complete unmanned vehicle (autonomous or remotely operated) using an electrical system or thermoacoustic means to generate acoustic waves to accomplish fire control and/or fire suppression. This approach eliminates the need for a vehicle to carry chemical flame retardants/extinguishers, or other traditional fire combating means, resulting in an impactful environmental footprint reduction and a marked specific efficiency improvement. The acoustic wave is generated through thermoacoustic or mechanical means using a linear actuator of magnet-and-coil, piezoelectric, or magnetostrictive construction and operating near mechanical, electrical, and acoustic resonance to reduce system power and mass.

摘要: Disclosed embodiments include an energy waveguide system having an array of waveguides and an energy inhibiting element configured to substantially fill a waveguide element aperture and selectively propagate energy along some energy propagation paths through the array of waveguides. In an embodiment, such an energy waveguide system may define energy propagation paths through the array of waveguides in accordance to a 4D plenoptic system. In an embodiment, energy propagating through the energy waveguide system may comprise energy propagation for stimulation of any sensory receptor response including visual, auditory, somatosensory systems, and the waveguides may be incorporated into a holographic display or an aggregated bidirectional seamless energy surface capable of both receiving and emitting two-dimensional, light field or holographic energy through waveguiding or other 4D plenoptic functions prescribing energy convergence within a viewing volume. The waveguides may include different structures configured for each or all sensory system or energy domain to direct energy through refraction, diffraction, reflection, or other approaches of affecting the propagation paths of energy.

摘要: Disclosed embodiments include an energy directing device having one or more energy relay elements configured to direct energy from one or more energy locations through the device. In an embodiment, surfaces of the one or more energy relay elements may form a singular seamless energy surface where a separation between adjacent energy relay element surfaces is less than a minimum perceptible contour. In disclosed embodiments, energy is produced at energy locations having an active energy surface and a mechanical envelope. In an embodiment, the energy directing device is configured to relay energy from the energy locations through the singular seamless energy surface while minimizing separation between energy locations due to their mechanical envelope. In embodiments, the energy relay elements may comprise energy relays utilizing transverse Anderson localization phenomena.
