Abstract: A system is described for an enhanced bow piece of a stringed musical instrument. The enhancement includes a visual display element attached to the bow. The appearance of the display changes in response to bow motion, bow position, and one or more user-supplied inputs (e.g. buttons). The system can be entirely self-contained and used as a normal instrument bow, providing a light-up/responsive effect while the user plays their instrument in an otherwise normal way. There is some capability for multiple self-contained units to be locally synchronized, providing group-based visualizations. Alternatively, these devices can be monitored and controlled by an external control system.

Abstract: An attachment for use with a stringed musical instrument comprises a rotatable shaft and groups of one or more string engaging elements coupled to the rotatable shaft. Each string engaging element of a group is positionable in a first orientation for driven rotary engagement with a corresponding string of the musical instrument. Each string engagement element is further positionable in a second orientation. The attachment further includes key actuators operatively associated with the string engaging elements, and each key actuator is manipulable so as to urge each string engaging element of a group into at least one of the first orientation or the second orientation. In an embodiment, the string engaging element(s) operated by each key actuator are rotatable wheels that rotate at a slower rate or a faster rate, depending on whether or not corresponding strings is/are bent toward the corresponding wheel(s).

Abstract: A plectrum or pick for an instrument is provided. The pick includes: a pick body having a central portion configured to be held by a user and a tip configured to contact an instrument string; at least one sensor arranged on or embedded in the pick body and configured to sense information representative of a pluck of the string with the pick body; and at least one pressure sensor arranged on or embedded in the pick body. The at least one pressure sensor can be configured to sense pressure between the pick body and the user's hand. The pick also includes a wireless transmitter configured to obtain information from the respective sensors and to transmit the obtained information to a remote device. Abstract: A pedal operated configurable guitar chord player is used in conjunction with a selection software and includes a chord actuator, an actuator assembly, and a pedal. The chord actuator provides a support structure, wherein the actuator assembly is positioned within a casing and connected to a base and a mounting frame. A first clamp and a second clamp attached to the base allow the chord actuator to be attached to the neck of a guitar, wherein a plurality of actuators of the actuator assembly is positioned overtop each of the guitar strings. The plurality of actuators is controlled by a microcontroller that is communicably coupled to an electronic device through an electronic device connection means. The pedal signals the microcontroller to progress the plurality of actuators to form the subsequent chords, wherein the order of chords is determined through the selection software.

Abstract: Training devices for facilitating proper bow holds on bow sticks of bowed stringed instruments. An exemplary training device may include a fingers stabilizer having a body with one or more thumb opening walls that define a thumb opening in the body. The thumb opening walls and/or the thumb opening may guide a thumb to the bow stick and position an end of the thumb at an approximate intersection of a bow stick frog and a bow stick shaft. The body may also include a finger separator that helps position an index finger and a middle finger on the bow stick. The fingers stabilizer may also have contact areas for positioning a ring finger and a pinky finger on the bow stick.
