    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body, a plurality of photoreceptor drums, a plurality of developing devices, a frame, an intermediate transfer unit, a secondary transfer roller, first positioning portions, and second positioning portions. The secondary transfer roller forms a secondary transfer nip portion with the first roller where the toner images are transferred to a sheet. The first positioning portions are arranged at the intermediate transfer unit and the frame. The first positioning portions position the intermediate transfer unit in a second direction inside the apparatus main body. The second positioning portions are arranged at the intermediate transfer unit and the apparatus main body. The second positioning portions position a distal end side in the mounting direction of the intermediate transfer unit in a third direction inside the apparatus main body. The third direction intersects with the first direction and the second direction.

    摘要: An electrostatic latent image is developed on a latent image carrier and residual toners are collected at the same time. An electrostatic latent image is formed on a rotary endless latent image carrier; developer, including magnetic toners and magnetic carriers, is supplied to a developing area for developing the latent image carrier, and a magnetic brush is formed with the developer in the developing area to thereby collect residual toners on the latent image carrier and develop the electrostatic latent image on the latent image carrier; and the developed image on the latent image carrier is transferred to a sheet. An electrostatic latent image may be developed with a rotary endless latent image carrier; an image forming unit for forming an electrostatic latent image on the latent image carrier; a developing unit having a developer, including magnetic toners and magnetic carriers, and a developer supplying unit for supplying the developer to a developing area for developing the latent image carrier and forming a magnetic brush with the developer in the developing area in order to develop the electrostatic latent image on the latent image carrier with a powdery developer and collect residual toners on the latent image carrier; and a transfer unit for transferring the developed image on the latent image carrier to a sheet.

    摘要: Disclosed is an image forming apparatus for forming a toner image on a sheet both in a horizonal installation and in a vertical installation of the apparatus. The image forming apparatus is designed so that an air flow from a thermal fixing unit exerts no influence on an image forming operation of a photosensitive body and a temperature detection operation of the thermal fixing unit even when installed horizontally or vertically. This image forming apparatus therefore includes an exhaust duct for guiding a gas of an interior of the thermal fixing unit in an upper oblique direction from the thermal fixing unit to exhaust the interior of the thermal fixing unit. The air flow from the thermal fixing unit does not therefore influence an image formation on the photosensitive body even when the apparatus is installed horizontally or vertically.
