    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an exposure unit that reflects a laser beam emitted from a light source by a polygon mirror having a plurality of reflection surfaces to form a latent image on a photosensitive member, and a control unit that controls the image forming apparatus in a plurality of operation modes including a normal mode and a low speed mode having a slower process speed than the normal mode. The control unit controls the polygon mirror to use all of the plurality of reflection surfaces to reflect the laser beam when in the normal mode. When in the low speed mode, the control unit makes the process speed faster than 0.5 times that of the normal mode, rotates the polygon mirror faster than in the normal mode, and controls the polygon mirror to use only some of the plurality of reflection surfaces to reflect the laser beam.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a scanning means provided with a light source, a polygon mirror and a driving means for driving rotation of the polygon mirror; a photosensitive member, a developing means, and a detecting means for detecting a laser light from the light source. A controller controls to execute a light emission operation so that an area including an image forming area of the photosensitive member is irradiated with the laser light. The controller controls to execute a switching operation in which a rotational speed of the polygon mirror is switched from a first speed to a second speed different from the first speed. The controller controls to execute the light emission operation in a state in which the photosensitive member and the developing means are in contact and are rotating, and to execute the switching operation based on a detecting result of the detecting means in the light emission operation.

In response to a determination that a detection value is fail, the controller corrects the wiring intensity based on another detection value determined to be pass at a position different from a position at which the detection value is determined to be fail, instead of correcting the writing intensity based on the detection value determined to be fail.

    摘要: An imaging device has a photoconductor with a surface that is selectively discharged by a light from a laser diode to create a latent electrostatic image for attracting toner for transfer to a media. A circuit drives the laser diode. The circuit has a switch for turning on and off the light, a resistor complementary to the laser diode selectively connectable to the switch, and a passive circuit component coupled to the laser diode. The passive circuit component is a delay line, inductor, choke, coiled wire, or ferrite bead is contemplated. It may also typify a length of copper tracing on a printed circuit board that supports the laser diode. The circuit causes an initial overshoot voltage spike in an on voltage pulse that is about 20% or more than the settled on voltage. The voltage spike dampens out in about one-fourth of a total voltage on time of the pulse.
