Abstract: A disclosure is presented for estimating height of an object using ultrasonic sensors carried onboard a vehicle. The height may be estimated by generating ultrasonic distance measurements based on a time of flight associated with ultrasonic reflections detected with the ultrasonic sensors, generating a three-dimensional (3D) occupancy grid to volumetrically represent at least a portion of an environment within field of view of the ultrasonic sensors, the 3D occupancy grid including a plurality of volumetric pixels (voxels), assigning a count value to each of the voxels based on the distance measurements, and estimating the height according to a relative spatial relationship between the vehicle and the voxel having the count value with a greatest value.

Abstract: Vehicles and methods for augmenting rearview displays for vehicles are provided. An exemplary method is provided for augmenting a rearview display for a vehicle having a gate moveable between a closed configuration and an opened configuration. The method includes collecting dynamic pixel images of an area behind the vehicle using a camera connected to the vehicle. Further, the method includes, in response to a command, displaying graphical overlays to the collected dynamic pixel images on a display screen, via a processor, wherein the graphical overlays depict an outline of the gate and/or projected path of the gate in the opened configuration.

Abstract: An ultrasonic transducer includes a transducer case and an ultrasonic element. Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and system for processing an obstacle detection result of an ultrasonic sensor array. The method comprises: obtaining obstacle coordinates collected by ultrasonic sensors in an ultrasonic sensor array; inputting the obstacle coordinates collected by ultrasonic sensors in the ultrasonic sensor array into a pre-trained neural network model, to obtain true or false labels for the obstacle coordinates collected by the ultrasonic sensors output by the pre-trained neural network model; process the obstacle coordinates collected by the ultrasonic sensors in the ultrasonic sensor array according to the true or false labels. The present disclosure improves the accuracy in the obstacle detection of the ultrasonic sensor array, avoids detection error and omission and improves the driving safety.

Abstract: An ultrasonic sensor includes an ultrasonic element and an element accommodation case. A side wall portion of the element accommodation case has a tubular shape surrounding a directional central axis. Abstract: A filtering device includes a filtering circuit that connects a voltage source to a sensor and a switching circuit connected in parallel with the filtering circuit that allows current from the voltage source to bypass the filtering circuit and flow through the switching circuit. The switching circuit receives a mode signal from the sensor that indicates whether the sensor is in a high current or a low current mode, the switching circuit closes when the sensor is in the high current mode, and the switching circuit is opens when the sensor is in the low current mode.
