An explosives delivery vehicle for delivering a booster for initiating an explosion of an explosive material in a hole in a floor of a mine pit to an operative depth in the hole. The vehicle comprises a storage assembly for storing a plurality of the boosters, a booster loading assembly for (i) supporting the booster in a delivery position above the hole and (ii) moving the booster downwardly into the hole and inserting the booster at an operative depth in the hole; and a delivery assembly for transporting the booster from the storage assembly to the loading assembly.

The present disclosure describes systems and methods for delivering a primer to an operative depth for initiating an explosion of an explosive material in a blasthole. Systems described herein can include a cap structure providing access into the hole and a separable detonator subassembly that can be deployed to convey a detonator to a priming position. Methods of priming a blasthole can include placing such a system on a blasthole collar and deploying the detonator subassembly in conjunction with loading the blasthole with explosive material.

The invention provides an apparatus and method for preventing surrounding loose rock fragments from falling or collapsing into a blast hole. The apparatus includes a flexible sheet including a pair of spaced apart longitudinally extending side edges and a pair of spaced apart laterally extending end edges. The sheet has a curved form defining a longitudinal passage extending between openings at longitudinally opposite ends, one end of the curved sheet being insertable into the open end of a blast hole whereby the curved sheet closely faces an internal surface of the blast hole and forms a barrier preventing surrounding loose rock fragments from falling or collapsing into the open end of the blast hole. The invention also provides a bench blasting method and a deployment device for deploying the apparatus into a blast hole.

Explosive geologic fracturing methods, devices, and systems can be used in combination with other geologic fracturing means, such as hydraulic fracturing methods, devices and systems, or other fluid-based fracturing means. An exemplary method comprises introducing an explosive system into a wellbore in a geologic formation, detonating the explosive system in the wellbore to fracture at least a first portion of the geologic formation adjacent to the wellbore, and introducing pressurized fluid into the wellbore to enhance the fracturing of the first portion of the geologic formation. Such multi-stage fracturing can further enhance the resulting fracturing of a geologic formation relative to explosive fracturing alone.

The present invention is directed to a mobile platform for the delivery of bulk explosives to a blast hole. One embodiment of the platform includes a vehicle, a tank for holding an explosive composition, and a conduit structure for conveying an explosive composition between the tank and a blast hole. The platform also includes a load cell structure for providing weight/mass data related to whatever explosive composition is disposed in the tank. The conduit structure includes a movable tube that is used to convey the explosive composition from a discharge port associated with the tank towards a blast hole. The platform is configured to prevent the movable tube and any explosive composition located in the tube from adversely affecting the operation of the load cells.

Embodiments provide an apparatus for providing a nonlabor-intensive process for sealing an opening formed in the ground with a chemically-inflatable bag. The chemically-inflatable bag comprises two or more chemical reactants, one of which is a liquid reactant that is initially stored in a liquid-containing device. The liquid-containing device has a removable cap, which upon removal or breakage of the cap permits the liquid reacting agent to contact and react with another reacting agent. The chemical reaction produces carbon dioxide, which expands the chemically-inflatable bag from a collapsed condition to an inflated condition. In the inflated condition, the chemically-inflatable bag fills and protects the integrity of the formed cavity.

The present invention relates to a blasting method using a control device for inducing a blast pressure, and a control device for inducing the blast pressure to apply the method. According to the blasting method using the control device for inducing the blast pressure, when a blasting operation is performed at the outermost hole of a tunnel or a wayside or wall surface of a structure constructed at a location in which an adjacent structure of a downtown area is located, a transfer path of the blast pressure is controlled using the control device for inducing the blast pressure so that the blast pressure does not exceed a proposed blast line, but is limitedly transferred into only a blasting area. Thus, a smooth and elegant blasted surface may be secured, and simultaneously, an over-break may be prevented and vibration and noises may be minimized. According to the present invention, since a general inexpensive explosive is loaded into a blasting prevention cover and easily utilized, the general inexpensive explosive may be replaced with an existing expensive precision explosive to significantly reduce blasting costs and improve blasting efficiency, thereby having a large economic impact and useful effects.

A blank (1) of stiff resilient sheet is folded along transversely extending fold or score lines (10) and fixed into open ended triangular cylinder shape by means of tab (7) and slot (8). A shaped charge (15) can be positioned in opening (5) and held in place using elastic cord (12). This provides a compact, lightweight and easy to assemble disposable weapon stand.
