摘要: A candle wick extractor, for use with a candle having a candle wick that terminates at, proximate to, or below the top surface of a candle's wax, comprised of a rigid ergonomic handle and a tubular extension having a radial cutter on the distal end thereof. The handle is comprised of a first portion having a hand grip that is ergonomically shaped for a user to grasp, and a second portion having the tubular extension and a cutter supported longitudinally therefrom. The tubular extension is generally a hollow body having a first end and a second end. The first end is attached to a portion of the handle, whereby the central bore of the tubular extension is accessible from the top of the handle. The second end of the tubular extension supports a cutter and is adapted to be inserted longitudinally into the top wax surface of the candle with the central bore positioned over the wick.

摘要: A device and method for exposing the ignitable end of a candle wick embedded in wax leaving an area around the wick to facilitate future lighting. The device includes an elongate hollow heated tube, heated by a heating source which heats the elongate hollow tube to a temperature sufficient to substantially soften or liquefy candle wax. A working end of the heated elongate hollow tube is inserted into the candle wax around the embedded ignitable end of a candle wick. The candle and the device are inverted and the wax around the candle wick flows through the interior of the heated elongate hollow tube and out a draining end of the heated elongate hollow tube thus exposing the embedded wick. The device also includes a handle allowing a user to easily hold and control the heated tube.

摘要: An auxiliary vehicle heater includes a combustion air fan, an intermittently rotating, absorbent wick, a glow plug for initiating combustion and a water jacket surrounding a combustion chamber. Fuel is supplied to the rotating wick by a metering pump and the hot combustion gases enter the combustion chamber and give up heat to the vehicle coolant surrounding it in the water jacket. The coolant is then pumped to the heater core of the vehicle heater. A thermocouple in the exhaust passage of the combustion chamber senses the exhaust temperature and three thermostats in the water jacket provide temperature data to a microprocessor which controls operation of the heater in response to sensed conditions and operator commands.

摘要: Torches are automatically refilled with a liquid fuel from a central reservoir pumped via a plumbing system, without directly monitoring local torch fuel levels. Instead, each torch includes a passive fuel overfill prevention valve. When refueling, the pump operates until all torches are filled. Refueling can cease after a set time, or when sensors report a backpressure and/or cessation of fuel flow. Pre-calibration establishes torch burning rates and/or maximum refill time. Time between refueling is predicted, based upon total burning time, which can be measured by torch heat sensors or determined according to a usage schedule or direct control of torch ignition and extinguishing by the controller. Reverse pumping can extinguish the torches, and wick ignitors can relight them sequentially. A service provider can monitor fuel consumption, establish a pattern of usage, and supply fuel in time to replenish the central reservoir, and/or other provide maintenance as needed.
