摘要： Two types of boilers for generating high pressure steam from gaseous effluents containing abrasive and corrosive solids are provided. Both types of boilers are vertical boilers of the fire-tube type with the gas flowing within the boiler tubes and with the water and steam surrounding the boiler tubes.In one type of boiler according to this invention, the solids-containing gas is downfed through the boiler tubes with the gas emerging from the tubes and impinging on a concave, conical deflector and a convex nose cone located below the deflector. The deflector and nose cone serve to disengage solids from the gas.In the other type of boiler according to the invention, the solids-containing gas first impinges on a baffle plate which serves to disengage solids from the gas. The solids flow down for removal, while the gas flows up the boiler tubes to generate steam.

摘要： A refractory brick particularly suited for constructing a diffusor wall for an industrial heat source. The brick includes a substantially tubular body having a first end, a second end opposed to the first end, an inner surface defining a passageway extending in the longitudinal direction of the body from the first end to the second end, and an outer peripheral surface extending from the first end to the second end. The outer peripheral surface has a complementary shape that allows mating of a plurality of the bricks to form cooperatively a diffusor wall. Mating means is formed on or in the outer peripheral surface for engaging corresponding mating means formed on or in outer peripheral surfaces of adjacent bricks when assembled as a diffusor wall.

摘要： A ceramic ferrule, an array of ceramic ferrules, and a ceramic ferrule refractory wall, all for shielding a tube sheet/boiler tube assembly of a heat exchanger connected to an industrial heat source. The head portion of each ferrule replaces conventional cast refractory walls, and has an outer-peripheral shape that allows the ferrules to mate at the operating temperature of the industrial heat source. The mated ferrules expand and contract substantially independently of one another, but form a substantially gas-tight barrier for shielding the tube sheet/boiler tube assembly from the waste gas of the industrial heat source.

摘要： A tubesheet protector device is provided for use with a boiler having at least one tube for receiving a fluid extending therethrough. The tubes extend approximately perpendicularly from a tubesheet covering an inlet of the boiler. The tubesheet protector device includes insulating board mounted on the tubesheet having holes therein for receiving ferrules. Each ferrule includes a shank adapted to be received in one of the tubes and a polygon-headed collar coupled with the shank. Both the collar and the shank of the ferrule are wrapped in insulation. The collar has dimensions larger than the outside diameter of the tube, and the collar and the shank both have a common through bore for transporting fluid from outside the boiler to the interior of the tubes extending through the boiler.
