Abstract:
A mountable lighting device that includes one or more light units each having a light housing containing one or more lights, a direct current power connection including a power cord extending from the housing, a two-pin harness connector, and a mounting base connected to the light housing, the mounting base comprising a reversibly mountable face for mounting the light unit onto a surface. A lighting kit containing a lighting device that includes one or more mountable light units, each light unit having a two-pin harness connector. Methods of lighting a workspace include providing one or more mountable light units, attaching a mounting base of each unit to a surface, and connecting the units to a direct current power source.
Abstract:
A light emitting diode (LED) work light and associated method of controlling the LED work light. The LED work light includes a power source, a casing including a handle section, at least one LED mounted to illuminate light from the casing, at least one lens forward of the LEDs to focus light from the LEDs, a control switch designated to at least turn on and turn off the LEDs, and a controller. The controller may be configured to, in response to activation of the control switch, provide control of the power source to the LEDs to transition from a first illumination state to a second illumination state of the illumination of the LEDs, the transition being illumination defined by a specified function over time defined to slow a transition time of the transition.
Abstract:
An apparatus and associated method for operating a portable light assembly. In accordance with some embodiments, a frame providing a bridge and defining a transport region and a deployment region is slidingly connected to a mast. An arm is further connected to the mast by a hinge while a light fixture is connected to the arm. In various embodiments, the light fixture is capable of transitioning from a deployed position where the mast engages the deployment region and a transport position where the mast and light fixture are disposed within the transport region.
Abstract:
A work light having a work light body including handle section and light head section, an elongate housing, a battery compartment and a component chamber longitudinally aligned within the housing, a battery, an LED circuit board assembly extending longitudinally within the housing and having a substrate layer, an external component layer on a first side of the substrate layer, and a driving component layer on an opposing second side of the substrate layer. Overlapping portion of the LED circuit board assembly in close proximity to the battery. Also, at least one LED on the external component layer, the external component layer facing transaxially outwardly from the housing such that light emitting from the LED emits from the light head section. At least one driving component on the driving component layer, all driving components placed on an extending portion of the LED circuit board assembly over the component chamber.

Abstract:
A light comprising an LED whose light intensity decreases as the angle from an axis of the LED increases, and a convex lens associated with the LED such that a beam width of the LED is concentrated by the lens into a narrower beam width, wherein the convex lens includes both a convex surface and a concave surface, and the concave surface is curved more sharply towards its edge than towards its center such that light is more evenly spread across the beam width of the lens.
Abstract:
A reel assembly includes an electrical cord, and a reel encased within a housing and capable of winding and unwinding the electrical cord. A power connector electrically couples one end of the electrical cord to a power source, such as a vehicle's cigarette lighter receptacle or 12 volt accessory power outlet. A powered device, such as a lamp, or flashlight, may be electrically coupled to an intermediate connector at the other end of the electrical cord. Connectors coupled to the electrical cord are removably attachable to the housing of the reel assembly.
Abstract:
A barrier movement operator controls the movement of a moveable barrier. The barrier movement operator includes a movable utility light. A head unit is communication with the movable utility light to command the moveable barrier to perform moveable barrier functions. The head unit provides power to the movable utility light in response to performance of the moveable barrier functions and also in response to movement of the movable utility light from a first position disposed at the head unit.
Abstract:
A hand-held flashlight with gripping means is connected by a retractable tether to a spool housing. The flashlight is a self-contained unit with a light emitting diode (LED) light source, batteries and a contact switch. One end of the tether is connected to the base of the flashlight. The other end of the tether is wound round the spool in the housing. A coil spring is mounted between the housing and spool to bias the tether in a retracted position around the spool. The contact switch automatically turns on the flashlight when the flashlight is extended away from the housing and turns off the flashlight when the flashlight is retracted back to the housing. The contact switch can be a magnetic reed switch or a pushbutton switch. The gripping means allow the flashlight to be held securely by hand in any weather condition or environment.
Abstract:
A USB-chargeable emergency light structure has a light base, a charging/outputting circuit unit, a connector and a charging socket. The light base defines an accommodating space therein for receiving the charging/outputting circuit unit that has a plurality of light sources. The connector partially protrudes from the base and is electrically connected to the charging/outputting circuit unit. The connector is a USB connector. The charging socket is mounted on the light base and electrically connected to the charging/outputting circuit unit. The lighting structure thereby constructed can be used as an emergency light, a night light, a flashlight or a charging device.
