The inner plastic tube is polyethylene of raised temperature. The outer plastic tube is polyethylene of raised temperature. The aluminum layer comprises AL 3005-O.
Abstract:
A three-dimensional multi-shell insulation configured to conform to the shape of a spacecraft component to be insulated. The insulation may have a plurality of nested shell layers that are displaceable relative to each other for providing natural separation between the shell layers when the insulation is used in low-pressure and/or low-gravity space-related applications. To establish the spacing between shell layers, an edge clamp may be operatively coupled to an edge portion on at least one side of each shell layer. The shell layers may have sufficient flexibility and/or may be sufficiently displaceable relative to each other to allow the insulation to be installed or removed from the spacecraft component. One or more restraints may be provided in the space between the shell layers for restricting the relative lateral and/or transverse movement between shell layers for preventing contact. Additive manufacturing may be employed to fabricate the insulation and integrate features.
Abstract:
Ice hole wraps configured to be positioned in a floor of an ice shelter are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, an ice hole wrap includes a first circular end, a second circular end, a cylindrical wall extending between the first and second ends, and a height extending between the first and second circular ends. The wall is foldable between a first configuration in which the cylinder has a first height between the first and second circular ends, and a second configuration in which the cylinder has a second height between the first and second circular ends.
Abstract:
A fluid sealing device for sealing an opening of an installation pipe in which at least a long object is installed includes: a flange configured to close the opening of the installation pipe, the flange having a hole through which the long object is made to pass, and the flange having a stop face that is continuous with and at an angle to an inner surface of the hole; one or more sealing members configured to be disposed on an outer periphery of the long object and configured to exert an urging force toward an axial center of the long object upon being compressed in an axial direction of the long object, thereby sealing a gap between the flange and the long object; and a clamping member configured to press the one or more sealing members toward the stop face.
Abstract:
A moisture control assembly for use with a support beam extending through an insulation layer is provided. The insulation layer is positioned between an outer wall and an inner wall. The assembly includes: a moisture path close-out structure coupled to the insulation layer at an aperture defined through the insulation layer, the moisture path close-out structure including an opening substantially aligned with the aperture and configured to receive the support beam therethrough; and a coupling mechanism configured to secure the moisture path close-out structure to the support beam such that the moisture path close-out structure is partially pulled away from the insulation layer, the coupling mechanism and the moisture path close-out structure configured to direct liquid flow down and away from the support beam and along the insulation layer.
Abstract:
A bolt-on thermal insulation panel assembly, shipping container constructed from such thermal insulation panel assemblies, method of assembling and method of using to transport thermally labile goods. The thermal insulation panel assembly includes a solid vacuum insulation panel with a superimposed layer of rigid foam insulation having a plurality of mechanical fasteners secured to the layer of rigid foam insulation.
Abstract:
Insulated pipe support apparatuses, systems and related methods are disclosed herein. An insulating support body section of support insulation for holding and insulating pipes installed within a structure can include a pipe receiving portion having a mounting side and a receiving side. The mounting side can have a mounting surface being configured to reside adjacent a mounting surface of a structure. At least one channel can be formed within the pipe receiving portion through the receiving side such that the pipe receiving portion forms side walls of the channel, the at least one channel being configured to receive one or more pipes with the side walls of the channels having a strength to support the section of pipe extending through the channel without need for additional weight bearing supports. The insulating support body section can have a thermal conductivity that is less than the thermal conductivity of the pipes that are to be inserted into the respective channels.
Abstract:
A process of forming a cushioned clamp in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure includes configuring a single-ply of woven fiberglass into a longitudinal tube to form a single-ply fiberglass sleeving, coating the single-ply fiberglass sleeving with an aluminum paint, subjecting the coated single-ply fiberglass sleeving to a warming medium, while pliable due to the warming medium, cutting the sleeving into discreet, individual pieces configured for forming a sleeve, folding a first cut end in on itself and pulling the first cut end toward a center of the sleeve to form a first rolled end, and folding a second cut end in on itself and pulling the second cut end toward a center of the sleeve to form a second rolled end, and slidably mounting the sleeve onto a bare metal clamp to form the cushioned clamp.
Abstract:
A thermal acoustic insulation structure including: a metal internal sheet having an exposed surface configured to be exposed to a hot gas, an external sheet and an insulation sandwiched between the internal and external sheets; a bar secured to the metal internal sheet and extending through at least a portion of the insulation; a bracket connected to the external sheet or to a support plate extending from the external sheet, wherein the bracket includes an opening configured to receive an end of the bar; a fastener securing the end of the bar to the bracket, and an insulating washer separating the bracket from the bar and the fastener.
