Abstract: The present invention provides a test device for a quasi zero stiffness isolator, and belongs to the technical field of vibration response tests of isolators. The device comprises a negative stiffness adjusting mechanism, a positive stiffness adjusting mechanism, and a beam-damping block mechanism. The negative stiffness adjusting mechanism and the positive stiffness adjusting mechanism are connected successively and installed on a beam-mass block system. The test device for the quasi zero stiffness isolator can realize smooth longitudinal vibration of a tested system, and can also flexibly adjust the positive stiffness value and the negative stiffness value of an overall mechanism. The present invention is suitable for a vibration model test of the quasi zero stiffness isolator, and solves the problems of complicated use method, impossibility of flexible adjustment of mechanism stiffness and complicated replacement process of stiffness elements in the device for the existing quasi zero stiffness isolator.

Abstract: An adjustable negative stiffness mechanism is disclosed. The adjustable negative stiffness mechanism includes a central shaft, an outer annular member extending around the central shaft, at least two negative stiffness elements extending between the central shaft and the annular member, and an actuator coupled to the negative stiffness elements. Each of the negative stiffness elements has an inner end coupled to the central shaft and an outer end engaging the annular member. The actuator is configured to compress and expand the negative stiffness elements to adjust a negative stiffness mechanical response exhibited by the negative stiffness elements.

The bi-directional spring member includes a non-linear spring component having a rigid member enclosing at least a portion of a compliant planar member and a linear spring component. Abstract: A vertical-motion vibration isolator utilizes negative-stiffness-producing mechanism which includes a plurality of compressed flexures, each having a particular length in the compressed direction of the flexure and being oriented in a horizontal direction, wherein the plurality of compressed flexures are positioned relative to each other such that the length of each compressed flexure substantially overlaps the length of each of the other compressed flexures. At least some of the plurality of compressed flexures can be positioned in a stacked arrangement. The arrangement of compressed flexures forming a portion of the negative-stiffness mechanism can reduce the size of the isolator without compromising vibration isolation performance.

Abstract: A bumper for use at a loading dock has two ranges of front-to-back movement: one range for sealing the gap that might otherwise exist between the rear edge of a truck and the front face of the bumper and a second range for absorbing the impact of the truck backing into the dock. In some cases, a spring provides a relatively light sealing force between the bumper and the truck, and a compressible core provides a much greater impact-absorbing force that helps stop the rearward movement of the truck. In some embodiments, the bumper pivots by gravity when operating in the sealing range.

Abstract: A spring system for resiliently supporting a mass with respect to a base comprises a supporting member mounted for movement and which can be coupled to the mass and is bounded by a portion of a spherical surface which bears against a concentric complementary guiding spherical surface fixed with respect to the base to guide the supporting member to rotate in all directions around the center of the sphere.
