Abstract:
A cable-coupled by-wire control of a vehicle control function traditionally activated by driver manipulation of a pedal is achieved though the agency of a Bowden cable having a first end fastened to the driver pedal, and a second end coupled to a by-wire actuator. The by-wire actuator has a pulley on which the second end of the cable is fastened, an electric motor coupled to the pulley to permit by-wire activation of the vehicle control function by rotation of the pulley in a direction to pull on the pedal with the cable. A relief chamber of the actuator radially outboard of the pulley accommodates slack in the cable within the actuator caused by driver manipulation of the pedal during by-wire activation of the control function.
Abstract:
A shifter for use with a continuously variable transmission includes a grip portion and a hub portion. Specifically, the shifter is designed for use on a bicycle, but could also be used with any light vehicle. The grip portion is characterized by a rotatable adjuster that is coupled to a cable. The cable is also coupled to a hub portion. As the adjuster is rotated, the cable is pulled, in turn rotating a pulley assembly in the hub portion. As the pulley assembly is rotated, it advances a rod within a continuously variable transmission. The rod adjusts the power adjusters as described above. The grip portion is also unique in its display of information to the rider. The grip portion includes a display showing the ratio of input to output. The display also includes a filament that curves as the ration is adjusted. A high ratio renders the filament flat while the filament takes on a steep curve as the ratio is adjusted to make riding up hills easier.
Abstract:
A clamping and/or spreading tool comprises a drive for displacement of a push or pull rod to which a movable jaw is fixed with respect to a support carrying a stationary jaw in longitudinal direction of the push and pull rod, said drive comprising a torsion spring and being adapted to enter torque transmitting engagement with the push or pull rod for displacement of the same.
Abstract:
A guiding-wire controlling rod device for chair adjustment is pivotally attached inside a housing by a rotation plate of a pivoting rod. The rotation plate has two sides each with a guiding-wire retaining notch and has multiple abutting flat surfaces formed at a front end of the rotation plate to abut with a resilient sheet to position the rotation plate at different angles. Moreover, a rear end of a controlling rod of the pivoting rod has a pivotal hole to pivotally engage with another controlling rod to drive other guiding-wires. Thereby, the controlling rods are aligned and control respectively multiple guiding-wires for different functions.
Abstract:
A cable transmission shift converter for use when replacing the transmission in a right hand drive vehicle with a transmission designed for a left hand drive vehicle. A mounting bracket is mounted directly to a firewall adjacent the steering column of the vehicle, while a second angled bracket is mounted to the left side of the replacement transmission. When the driver shifts the vehicle into gear, the steering column shift selector lever actuates a connector rod to transmit movement through the control cable to a second connector rod, which activates a crank arm that translates the movement to the transmission shift lever.

Abstract:
A vehicle seat includes a height-adjustable seat frame which has at least two seat frame parts which can be moved relative to one another and at least one gas spring arranged between the seat frame parts for height adjustment purposes. The seat includes a control device that acts upon the gas spring and includes a valve device attached to a first seat frame part and has control valves for actuating gas flows for the gas spring. A control link on a second frame part actuates the control valves, so that a predefinable height of the vehicle seat is ensured regardless of a weight load on the vehicle seat. Movement of the control link relative to the second seat frame part brings about a height adjustment of the vehicle seat.

Abstract:
A bicycle transmission control device includes a fixed housing fitted on a handlebar of the bicycle, one side of the housing being recessed to form an annular cavity in which a first locating section is disposed. A locking member having a first linking section and pivotably and slidably mounted in the annular cavity, one end of the locking member being formed with a second locating section, any end of the locking member being hooked with one end of the steel cord of the bicycle transmission system, the steel cord always resiliently pulling the locking member, whereby the second locating section is biased toward the first locating section to engage therewith. A rotary member fitted on the handlebar and pivotally mounted on outer side of the housing, a second linking section protruding from inner side of the rotary member for drivingly connecting with the first linking section of the locking member.
