Abstract:
An assembly includes first and second members connected via a connector that is axially insertable into a channel defined by passages of the first and the second member. The connector exhibits a length extending in a longitudinal direction of the channel and includes first and second expansion blocks, and one or more than one wedge between the first expansion block and the second expansion block, and is configured to be displaced longitudinally relative to the channel to thereby radially expand the connector relative to the channel. At a cross section halfway the length of the connector, a cross sectional area and a height of a first expansion block in a radial direction relative to the channel is smaller than a cross sectional area and a height of a second expansion block in said radial direction relative to said channel. A method of assembling such an assembly.
Abstract:
An adjustable mounting system for mounting a control panel on a housing of a home cooking appliance, and a home cooking appliance having an adjustable mounting system, are provided. The adjustable mounting system includes a control panel having a mounting pin extending from a rear surface of the control panel and a mounting box fixed on the housing. The mounting box has a first opening that receives the mounting pin into an interior of the mounting box. The adjustable mounting system includes a locking device that engages the mounting pin and the mounting box and secures the mounting pin in the interior of the mounting box, which secures the control panel to the housing. A movement of the locking device with respect to the mounting box adjusts a position of the control panel with respect to the housing.
Abstract:
The invention provides a radially expanding fastener/alignment plug assembly for use with a torque power tool, the assembly including: a sleeve member (10), insertable into a hole of an object, having radial expansion elements with inner surface portions which are tapered towards a first end; an expanding member (20), insertable in the sleeve member, having an outer surface portion which is tapered towards a first end, cooperating with the inner tapered surface portions of the radial expansion elements of the sleeve member; and a displacement member (30) formed between a second end of the sleeve member and a second end of the expanding member. Advantageously, the assembly is self-reacting allowing an actuation torque to be applied to and reacted upon to create high levels of pulling and expansion force without the need for an external reaction point.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a connecting arrangement for connecting a shaft to a component. A tapered outer surface of an inner ring and a tapered inner surface of an outer ring are configured in a manner corresponding to each other. The outer ring surrounds the inner ring. A union nut surrounds the outer ring and the threaded piece. The union nut has an internal thread and the threaded piece has an external thread, wherein the internal and the external threads are configured in a manner corresponding to each other.
Abstract:
A taper lock apparatus, including a screw defining a longitudinal axis and having a tapered end at one end thereof, the tapered end including a threaded bore extending partially along the longitudinal axis; a compression fitting having expansions, the fitting defining an internal space having an internal taper, the internal space configured to mate at least partially with the tapered end of the screw; and a retaining screw configured to mate with the threaded bore, wherein tightening of the retaining screw into the bore engages the taper end of the screw with the internal taper of the fitting forcing the expansions radially outward.
Abstract:
A fastener and an attachment assembly. The fastener includes a bolt having a first bolt portion, a second bolt portion and an intermediate bolt portion arranged between the first bolt portion and the second bolt portion. The first bolt portion is conical and the second bolt portion is threaded. A first bushing has a conical inner surface arranged in circumferential abutment to the first bolt portion and a nut to be threadedly engaged to the second bolt portion. The attachment assembly secures objects to each other and includes at least two bores, arranged through the objects, including a first bore portion, a second bore portion and an intermediate bore portion, respectively. The intermediate bore portion is arranged between the first bore portion and the second bore portion. The attachment assembly also comprises at least two fasteners, each fastener is arranged inside the bores, respectively.
Abstract:
An expanding dowel rod structure for coaxially aligning at least 2 separate workpieces having circular apertures therein and/or securely attaching a boss in a circular aperture in a workpiece providing resistance to shearing is provided. The expanding dowel rod structure is comprised of a small number of easily machinable or obtainable pieces, is simple to insert and secure, automatically coaxially aligns the dowel rod structure in a circular aperture with generally even force across substantially all of the contacting surfaces thereof.
Abstract:
A retaining device for attachment to a screw contains a hollow base element for receiving a clamping part. The hollow base element has a floor having a hole, and an inner surface of the base element on the floor area of the retaining device is implemented as conical to contact the outer surface of the conical body of the clamping part. The clamping part can be moved downward in the direction of the floor by rotating the retaining device around its own axis and biting into a screw which is inserted through the hole and runs through the opening of the clamping part.
Abstract:
A screw anchor for concrete attachment to a railroad tie or solid track comprises external threads (16) disposed on the exterior of the screw anchor (10) and internal threads (18) disposed inside the screw anchor (10) for force-fitted connecting to a fastening element (30), wherein the screw anchor (10) comprises two sections (12, 14) adjacent to one another in the longitudinal direction, the first section (12) having a substantially cylindrical external shape and the second section (14) having a substantially conical external shape, and wherein the second section (14) is disposed between the first section (12) and an inlet opening (26) for the fastening element (30).
