摘要: A control apparatus of an EGR control valve has an EGR control valve has an exhaust gas recirculation passage to circulate exhaust gas of an combustion engine from an exhaust gas passage to an intake air passage. A measurement unit measures a flow rate of EGR gas flowing in the exhaust gas recirculation passage, and a controller receives an input from the measurement unit and closes the EGR control valve if the EGR-gas flow rate is smaller than a predetermined threshold value when the EGR gas is flowing from the exhaust side to the intake side of the internal combustion engine.

摘要: A conventional technique performs valve close control of an EGR valve after an EGR-gas back flow is detected. Therefore, the conventional technique has a subject that, if an EGR-gas flow direction changes from forward flow to back flow, a back flow condition will last not only for a response delay time of a detector but also for the judgment time by calculation processing and the actuation time of the EGR control valve. There is provided a control apparatus of an EGR control valve, comprising: an EGR control valve which is provided in an exhaust gas recirculation passage to circulate exhaust gas of an combustion engine from an exhaust gas passage to an intake air passage; measurement means for measuring a flow rate of EGR gas flowing in the exhaust gas recirculation passage; and control means for receiving an input from the measurement means and closing the EGR control valve if the EGR-gas flow rate is smaller than a predetermined threshold value when the EGR gas is flowing from the exhaust side to the intake side of the internal combustion engine.

摘要: An exhaust gas recirculation passage connects an exhaust passage with an intake passage. A cooling device is mounted to the exhaust gas recirculation passage for cooling exhaust gas in the exhaust gas recirculation passage. An EGR valve adjusts a flow passage area of the exhaust gas recirculation passage. An exhaust gas quantity (EGR quantity) in the exhaust gas recirculation passage is feedback-controlled by manipulating an opening degree of the EGR valve based on a measurement value of an airflow meter. Existence or nonexistence of an abnormality in the cooling device is diagnosed based on whether a measurement value of the opening degree of the EGR valve contains a component corresponding to compensation for reduction of the EGR quantity due to degradation of cooling performance of the cooling device.

摘要: An exhaust control system for a power source is disclosed. The exhaust system has an air induction system, an exhaust system, and a recirculation system. The recirculation system is configured to direct at least a portion of an exhaust flow from the exhaust system to the air induction system. The exhaust control system also has a sensor configured to detect the presence of sulfur, and a controller in communication with the sensor. The controller is configured to modify operation of the recirculation system in response to the detected presence of sulfur.

A pressure drop module determines a pressure drop between an input of the first component and an output of the first component based a temperature of exhaust input to the first component. An input pressure module determines an input pressure of the first component based on a sum of the output pressure of the first component and the pressure drop between the input and the output of the first component. An actuator control module selectively controls at least one engine actuator based on at least one of the input and output pressures of the first component.

摘要: A thermal type gas flowmeter comprising a sensor element which, in turn, comprises at least one first heating resistor, two or more resistors in fluid and a second heating resistor which is disposed between the first heating resistor and a housing supporting the sensor element. The first and second heating resistors are electrically independent from each other. A temperature sensing unit is provided between the first and second heating resistors. A temperature of the first or second heating resistor is controlled by a temperature sensed by the temperature sensing unit.

摘要: Under a partial load, a pumping loss is reduced by a stratified combustion to enhance a fuel consumption, and during the maximum output operation, the output is increased by a premixture combustion, and the output of an engine is controlled, thereby enhancing the drivability. Under the partial load, an ignition source is provided in the vicinity of a fuel injection valve, and after the fuel is injected, the mixture is ignited, and a resulting flame is caused by a spray of the fuel to spread into a cylinder, thereby effecting a stratified combustion. When the load increases, so that soot and so on are produced in the stratified combustion, the fuel injection is effected a plurality of times in a divided manner, and a premixture is produced within the cylinder by the front-half injection, and a flame, produced by the latter-half injection, is injected into the cylinder to burn this premixture.

摘要: The engine disclosed features an engine cylinder provided with an air intake valve, an injector having a fuel injection port which is directed towards an interior of the engine cylinder, and a control unit which is connected to the air intake valve and to the injector, the control unit effecting changes in the air intake amount by controlling the degree of opening of the air intake valve, and, also, controls the air/fuel ratio by changing the amount of fuel supplied by the injector. The engine also has an exhaust valve in the engine cylinder such that the control unit controls the intake valve and the exhaust valve so that an opening period of the intake valve is overlapped with an opening period of the exhaust valve at least when the opening period of the intake valve is maximum. The period of the overlap is longer when a relatively large amount of air is required than when a relatively small amount of air is required. According to such a scheme, the amount of the air can be changed by the lift of the intake valve. By changing the lift, the overlap with an exhaust valve is also changed. During the high-output or power operation, the period of overlap between the exhaust valve and the intake valve is made longer. When engine torque decreases to a level lower than the target engine torque, the air amount is adjusted by the cam or the throttle valve.

The gas flow control system includes a supply passage configured to supply gas to the cylinder and an exhaust gas passage configured to remove gas from the cylinder. A bypass passage is configured to connect the supply passage and exhaust gas passage, and a fluid control switch is selectively operable to supply gas out of the exhaust gas passage through the bypass passage into the supply passage in an exhaust gas return operating mode, and to supply gas out of the supply passage through the bypass passage into the exhaust gas passage in a post-air operating mode.
