摘要: A method may include obtaining power production and fuel consumption data of a first piece of rig equipment through a flow meter, where the rig equipment includes a plurality of pieces of equipment. The method further includes feeding the power production and fuel consumption data of the first piece of rig equipment into a real-time monitoring system of the rig via the flow meter. The method further includes determining an energy efficiency, based on real-time performance, of the first piece of rig equipment using a consumption efficiency model. The method further includes comparing the energy efficiency of the first piece of rig equipment against continuously updated historical data of the first piece of rig equipment by a real-time database monitoring system. The method further includes identifying deficiencies of the first piece of rig equipment in real-time and determining maintenance or replacement of the first piece of rig equipment.

A selection module 24 selects a destination location for the drill rig 12. A corridor establishment module 26 establishes a corridor between the initial location of the drill rig 12 and its destination location, the corridor having a selected width. A processing unit 28 is responsive to the modules 18, 24 and 26 for selecting a hole location of each hole within the corridor to be drilled by the drill rig 12 sequentially as it moves from its initial location to its destination location.

摘要: A drilling rig and methods are provided for using multiple types of drilling when installing geothermal systems. The drilling rig can perform sonic drilling such as percussive sonic drilling and a type of non-sonic drilling. Control switching valves are added to the hydraulics of the drilling rig to selectively provide sufficient flow of hydraulic fluid to motors used in the multiple types of drilling, depending on which type of drilling is currently most efficient for the underground formation being drilled. The water pump and hydraulic motor for such have been designed to handle both types of drilling on a small drilling rig frame, thereby allowing for the drilling to occur in space-constrained environments. A method of recycling water used to remove cuttings during drilling to put back downhole is also provided.

The flow collar further includes a plurality of radially-extending peripheral fluid passages extending through the flow collar to the second interior portion. An outer rod interfacing surface defines a continuous annular surface with a constant outer diameter.

摘要: A machine includes a boom coupled to a movable carrier and at least one boom actuator adapted to actuate the boom. At least one boom sensor is configured to generate signals indicative of a spatial orientation of the boom. A drilling work device is coupled at a distal portion of the boom. First and second actuators are adapted to actuate the drilling work device. At least one drilling work device sensor is configured to generate signals indicative of a spatial orientation of the drilling work device. A controller receives signals indicative of the spatial orientation of the boom, receives signals indicative of the spatial orientation of the drilling work device, and actuates at least one of the at least one boom actuator and the first and second actuators through predetermined sequential steps to automatically position the machine in a shipping configuration.

Another tool carrier includes a hinge between the mast and the main housing. The hinge permits the tool carrier to be moved into a more central position when folded onto the rig chassis for transport.
