摘要: A system for controlling a speed of a pump jack system having a variable speed prime mover includes a sensor attached to the pump jack system. The sensor is capable of detecting an absolute position of a first component of the pump jack system relative to a second component of the pump jack system and configured to send a signal proportional to the sensed absolute position and/or velocity and/or acceleration. The system includes process circuitry configured to accept the signal and perform a calculation related to absolute position and/or velocity and/or acceleration of the first component relative to the second component. The system includes a controller that is configured to receive the signal from the process circuitry and configured to send a signal to the prime mover to adjust a rotational speed of the prime mover and the position of the first component relative to the second component.

摘要: Diagnosing a pump apparatus having a downhole pump disposed in a deviated wellbore characterizes axial and transverse displacement of a rod string with two coupled non-linear differential equations of fourth order, which include axial and transverse equations of motion. To solve the equations, derivatives are replaced with finite difference analogs. Initial axial displacement of the rod string is calculated by assuming there is no transverse displacement and solving the axial equation. Initial axial force is calculated using the initial axial displacement and assuming there is no transverse displacement. Initial transverse displacement is calculated using the initial axial force and the initial axial displacement. Axial force and friction force are calculated using the initial displacements, and the axial displacement at the downhole pump is calculated by solving the axial equation with the axial force and the friction force. Load at the downhole pump is calculated so a downhole card can be generated.

摘要: A system and method for real-time data acquisition and presentation of force, position, load, pressures, and movement within a subterranean well pumping system, such as an oil well. Data is gathered using sensors attached to a surface level pump drive and wellhead system. Well structural data and well production data are combined therewith to generate a real-time display of down-hole well operation, including animated graphics of the pump operation, including pump movement, rod and tubing stretch, fluid movement, gas compression, system forces, and fluid pressures. Liquid levels are tested using an acoustic liquid level instrument, and incorporated to improve well performance analysis.

摘要: A system for determining rod position in a rod pumped well is described that includes a laser unit mounted on an underside of the walking beam and a reflector plate mounted on the sampson post of the rod pumped well in a position near the laser unit. The laser transmits a beam onto the reflector plate allowing the laser unit to determine the distance between the laser and the reflector plate. The distance between the laser and reflector plate as determined by the laser is transmitted to a controller which calculates the position of the rod in the rod pumped well based on the distance determined by the laser.

摘要: An electric power saving device for motor of pump jack apparatus. The electric power saving device preferably detects current and voltage generated from a motor of the pump jack during the up stroke and down stroke and preferably converts the real-time load torque obtained using an AC amplifier and voltage converter. The electric power saving device preferably minimizes the counter electromotive force (Back-EMF) and preferably reduces consumption of electrical energy by automatically reducing speed in a heavy-load during an up stroke, while automatically increasing speed in un-load, during a down stroke. This is preferably done by converting real-time load torque obtained by torque formula and through the output value according to load torque in order to minimize Back-EMF.
