Abstract: A self-propelled, remotely-controlled equipment deployment vehicle is configured to deliver equipment to a desired location within the horizontal portion of a deviated wellbore. The deployment vehicle includes a cargo frame, an electric motor and an active mobility assembly. The active mobility assembly is connected to the cargo frame and powered by the electric motor. The cargo frame can be configured to transport, offload and accurately position the selected cargo. Alternatively, the equipment deployment vehicle can be configured with a passive mobility assembly that allows the equipment deployment vehicle to be pushed or pulled along the horizontal section of the wellbore without power.

Abstract: A debris collection device creates circulation with surface pumped fluid that draws debris laden flow into a long tail pipe. The tail pipe advances as debris is sucked out of the way and into the tailpipe. A shoe with a check valve at the tailpipe lower end prevents debris exit from the tailpipe either when the surface pump is turned off or when the tailpipe is removed with the tool to get the debris out of the borehole. The device handles horizontal runs where debris such as sand accumulates on the borehole bottom. Additional stands are added above the debris collection device as the tailpipe penetrates deeper into the borehole as sand that lies ahead of it is removed into the tailpipe. A volume of sand extending into the thousands of gallons can be removed in a single trip.

Abstract: A tool retrieves material from a well. The tool has a cylindrical tool body, malleable members, and a cylindrical jacket. The tool body defines a chamber adapted to receive material for retrieval. The malleable members are on the lower end of the tool body and preferably are made of a relatively hard, tough malleable material such as steel. They are bendable from an open position allowing material to enter the chamber to a closed position capturing the material. The jacket is mounted on the exterior of the tool body and has a mill surface which is adapted to bend the malleable members from the open position to the closed position. Relative axial movement of the jacket and the tool body causes the malleable members to bear on the mill surface and bend to the closed position.

Abstract: A debris removal device for subterranean use features a debris laden inlet tube within a housing to define a debris collection space at the lower end of the housing. An eductor draws the debris laden fluid to the top of the inlet tube where the flow stream is returned to a downhole direction with discrete passages formed between the housing and the inlet tube by spaced parallel plates. The plates feature extending tabs on diametrically opposed lower ends of the plates. As a result flow heading back downhole can release debris and turn back uphole in passages defined between the outside of the plates and the inside wall of the housing. The tabs allow the flow turning uphole to make a greater radius turn because of a crossing over effect created by the tabs. There is less turbulence and narrower width to the flowing stream going uphole.
