Abstract:
A multi-layered film including a polyvinyl chloride (PVC)-based base layer containing a plasticizer and including a surface layer containing a UV stabilizer that is adhesively bonded to the base layer, wherein an acrylate-based PVC-free copolymer is used as a plasticizer in the base layer.
Abstract:
A recessed window assembly comprises a housing configured for recessed installation within a frame wall of a building adjacent a window opening and at least two sliding window components slidingly disposed within the housing such that the sliding window components are at least substantially disposed within the housing when in a non-deployed position and that fill the window opening when in a deployed position. The window components can comprise, for example, a transparent untinted window, a transparent tinted window, a translucent window, a window screen, a security plate, an electric fan, or an air filter.
Abstract:
The support and insulation element for supporting and insulating a window frame has a support part and an insulating part. The support part has a first leg comprising a first side surface, a second leg, which projects from the first leg, and a third leg, which projects from the first leg a certain distance away from the second leg. The support part is made of load-bearing material. The insulating part is arranged at least on the side of the first leg of the support part opposite the first side surface and is made of compacted mineral wool or a rigid foam. The insulating part comprises two slots, into which the second leg and the third leg of the support part are inserted. The insulating part surrounds three sides of both the second leg and the third leg of the support part.
Abstract:
A door jamb assembly comprises a plurality of longitudinal door jamb portions. Each door jamb portion comprises a longitudinal door jamb member comprising a longitudinal rounded channel and a plurality of longitudinal internal cavities, and a longitudinal frame member comprising a rounded longitudinal edge matingly engaging the rounded channel of the door jamb member. The door jamb assembly also comprises a plurality of corner keys forming generally right-angled joints between adjacent door jamb portions.
Abstract:
The window assembly uses a releasable press fit frame connection. The window assembly includes a window pane sandwiched between a pair of frame halves that are press fit together by the engagement of a plurality of corresponding male and female connectors integrally formed into the frame halves. The corresponding male and female connectors are spaced apart around the perimeter of frame halves and hold the window assembly within the window openings cut in the wall or door panels. The window assembly of this invention also includes a release key that allows the frame halves to be taken apart. The release key is manually inserted through thin slots formed in the frame halves to disengage the connection between corresponding male connectors and female connectors.
Abstract:
A window frame system includes four basic profiles for new building construction and for various other projects including renovation, bow and bay constructions. One profile includes an outer profile for engagement with the wall of a new building in which the distance between the inside wall of the profile and a nailing fin is at least 6.5 inches. The height of the profile is then reduced to accomodate this larger width. A cross mullion is provided and a sash frame profile is also provided. The inner wall of the outer frame and the side walls of the mullion are arranged for cooperation either with a picture window unit or with the sash frame. The fourth profile comprises a renovation/bow profile which can be inserted into an existing window frame or can be snapped together alongside similar profiles to form a bow or bay construction.
Abstract:
A window for boats, trailers and the like comprises a pane element which is arcuately curved along at least a portion of its periphery. A frame member for the pane extends effectively continuously circumferentially of the pane and mounts the pane therein. The frame member is fabricated of a rigid synthetic thermoplastic extrusion and, in cross-section, defines a web extending substantially normal to the pane and spaced pane flanges extending from one side of the web and between which the pane is disposed. The frame member extends continuously along the peripheral portion of the pane and is correspondingly arcuately curved along said portion in a direction normal to the web. The window includes means for securing the frame member in a window opening and this means includes a mounting flange extending from the opposite side of the web along the circumference of the window.
Abstract:
A prefabricated entryway made of molded fiberglass consisting of individual fluted pilasters, base and head blocks, a mantel made in two parts, a mantel overlay, a pediment made in two parts, a combined urn and urn base and a plurality of spring clips. The entire assembly is readily erected in place on a wall about an opening upon the spring clips being fastened to the wall and the various parts becoming interlocked and interengaged without the use of nails, screws and the like.
