Abstract: A concrete form support bracket and assembly which can be used economically and efficiently to pour concrete bridge decks or building floors. The brackets, which are used in pairs, have a base plate to bear the weight of form ledgers, a rear wall extending from the base plate, and a pair of spaced apart side walls extending from the rear wall and base plate. A fastener is provided for securing the ledger in the bracket and an opening is located in the base plate for providing a bolt to support and adjust the bracket. In the assembly form, the bracket may include a hanger bar, receiving channel and adjustable bolt as a support for the bracket.

Abstract: A cradle for an adjustable brace used for supporting an elevated concrete form floor between support beams during the curing of the concrete is provided. The cradle is adapted to receive the upper portion of two legs such that the legs can pivot towards and away from each other in a single plane, to enable the lower portion of the legs to be placed for support against opposing support beams positioned at varying distances from each other. The cradle is also adapted to receive and support a shoring member for suppoting the concrete form floor. The cradle may be adjustable for supporting shoring members at varying heights.

Abstract: A reusable, longitudinally adjustable, readily removable form support member for supporting a concrete construction form in an array of structural members in a building construction. In one embodiment the form support member comprises a spanning member having laterally translatably support pin members secured in recesses in opposed ends of the spanning member for engaging openings in adjacent structural members. The support pins may be movable in a horizontal plane so as to permit their alignment with the structural openings where necessary. The support pin members include block means attached to the rear portions of the support pins, the block means cooperating with respective activating means to move the spanning member in a vertical plane so that an inside surface of the respective end parts of the spanning member contacts a surface of the block means and effect a friction bond which prevents longitudinal movement of the respective parts. Other embodiments for extending and retracting the support pins are also shown and described.

Abstract: For use in establishing the prescribed elevation difference between an adjustably movable deck member and a relatively stationary support member, an elevation gauge comprising a case, a float disposed in the case and guided for vertical movement, a lead screw for moving the float, a scale carried by the float to extend vertically upwardly and to cooperate with an indicator pointer carried by the case to indicated lower selected vertical position of the float, a second float guided for vertical movement on the case, and a signal device for providing an output when the second float is in a preselected elevational position relative to the first float. The signal device cooperates between the floats, and the case is adapted to rest on one of the members while the said second float is adapted to rest on the other of said members. A plurality of bolt assemblies is provided for adjustably supporting the deck member on the support member. Each bolt assembly comprises a vertically extending bolt, a hanger for mounting on the support member, with the upper end of the bolt penetrating through the hanger and being rotatable relative to the hanger. A first nut threadedly engages the upper end of the bolt and restrains the bolt against movement downwardly relative to the hanger. A second nut threadedly engages the bolt and supports the deck member, the second nut being prevented from rotating when the bolt rotates. The first nut and the upper end of the bolt are proportioned and designed to be engaged by a tool and rotated together relative to the hanger to raise and lower the deck member to the prescribed height determined by the said gauge.

Abstract: A hanger for suspending concrete forms from a beam or other support. The hanger is provided with cast ends which have screw threaded openings proximate their upper portions for receipt of a tension rod and non-threaded sockets proximate their lower portions for receipt of a compression strut. Abstract: A bracket is disclosed that is attachable to an outside bridge girder for supporting the form for a concrete overhang. The bracket includes a T-shaped member whose inner face is flat and whose head is attachable to the web of the girder with said face in contact therewith. The outer face of the member has an outwardly disposed reinforcement extending from its lower end into the head. The inner ends of a support and of a brace are welded to the member in vertically spaced relationship and the outer end of the brace is welded to the support adjacent its outer end which has an end plate having a portion disposed below the support which serves as an anchor for an additional brace.

Abstract: A steel joist formwork and a composite steel and concrete floor structure provided with a top chord, a bottom chord and a web joining the top and bottom chords with the top chord being serpentine shaped like an S or Z and including top and bottom, generally horizontal portions and an intermediate portion integrally connecting opposite edges of the top and bottom portions with the top and intermediate portions substantially being adapted to be embedded in the concrete floor to cause the floor and steel joists to act structurally as a composite beam. Either the web or a leg depends vertically from the free end of the bottom portion of the top chord, and the web joining the top and bottom chords is substantially solid or is, an open web formed of a zig-zag bar member. There is also disclosed a building system and erecting method utilizing steel joists spaced apart by spanner bars which also support rigid panels which act as formwork for the pouring of concrete. The spanner bars and the joists are so arranged to cooperate that the spanner bars may be removed together with the rigid panels after the concrete has been poured, and the spanner bars, the rigid panels and if desired the steel joists may be reused for formwork for additional poured concrete construction. Alternatively the joists may be left in place either with the top chords embedded in the poured concrete to provide a composite action, or merely supporting the concrete slab in the conventional fashion. A novel cold rolled sheet steel joist may be advantageously used to form a particularly economical composite system. This steel joist is shaped in an I-beam configuration with an upper top chord bent to have the appearance of the letter Z in cross-section for bonding with the concrete floor.
