摘要: A ridge element for corrugated roofs is made as a monolithic tile member (2) having an upper arched shell portion (4), the underside of which is provided with protrusions (8) showing exterior edges (10) profiled so as to be engageable with the corrugations of the opposed roofing elements (12) when these form a specific ridgeangle with each other. The same or similar ridge elements will be advantageously usable for other ridge angles, too, because a relative tilting of the roofing elements will produce small gaps only between the surface thereof and the non-engaged portions of the tile edges (10), whereby a complete sealing will require relatively small amounts of sealing compound. In practice, therefore, one type of ridge tile will be usable for all relevant ridge angles, Preferably the tile edges are provided with compressible sealing strips which will normally obviate any additional use of sealing compound, whereby the tiles are very easy to mount.

The photovoltaic roofing system includes a ridge cap adapted to cover a ridge of a roof structure. The system also includes at least one photovoltaic cell disposed within the ridge cap. The method of installing a photovoltaic ridge cap structure includes mounting the ridge cap over multiple photovoltaic cells along a ridge of a roof structure. The method further includes routing electrical leads from each photovoltaic cell through one or more openings along the ridge of the roof structure.

摘要: A durable, nailable, lightweight and fire resistant fiber cement article that can be a cost-effective substitute for conventional building materials is provided. The fiber cement article can be profiled to resemble a roofing article such as a wood shake or slate. The fiber cement article incorporates a hydrophobe and a viscosity enhancing agent that are each selected to control the rate of hydration of the binder. The fiber cement article is durable, is walkable and nailable without cracking during installation and maintains walkablilty after exposure in service.

摘要: An angled roofing shingle for a roof ridge line is made from an organic, resinous material and a filler material. The shingle has a first elongated portion and a separable, second elongated portion. These two portions each have a longitudinal edge provided with a mating edge surface and are joined together at an angle less than 180 degrees so that the shingle can cover and conform to the ridge line. Means are included for moving the first and second elongated portions relative to each other to change the angle of the shingle to accommodate a variety of angles of ridge lines.
