    摘要: A line and level determination system for a trenchless construction apparatus has a block assembly which is attached by welding to a lead casing to be installed with the trenchless construction apparatus. The block assembly has a water inlet, a water outlet, a tilt sensor and a light emitting device disposed within the water outlet. A water hose has a first end attached to the water inlet and a second end attached to a water source. The line and level determination system has a controller connected to the tilt sensor and the light emitting device. The controller selectively energizes the tilt sensor and the light emitting device. Data from the tilt sensor is displayed on a screen of the controller. A surveying instrument, such as a theodolite, may be utilized to determine line from the illumination of the light emitting device into the casing.

    摘要: A method of forming a trench in the bed of a body of water, the bed having an initial undisturbed upper surface, comprises suspending a pressure line from a vessel floating on the body of water, the pressure line terminating downwardly in a downwardly directed nozzle. The nozzle is positioned a small distance above the bed, and water is pumped under pressure on board the vessel and is discharged via the pressure line and nozzle downwardly against the bed surface with the water pumped at an overpressure between 0.01 bar and 20 bar and at a flow rate of 0.25 to 20.0 cm per second. The distance of the nozzle above the surface of the bed is not more than ten times the diameter of the water jet defined by the nozzle, preferably about six times the diameter of that water jet.

    摘要: A dredging system for removing material from a submerged ground surface includes a dredge head housing having an enclosed, pressurized agitation chamber into which the material to be removed is received from an intake opening. Connected to the housing is a feed line that supplies pressurized fluid, such as water, air or both, to a fluid manifold connected to the housing and within the agitation chamber. The fluid manifold contains cutting outlets for discharging the pressurized fluid onto the material to liquefy the material and lifting outlets for discharging the pressurized fluid so as to urge the liquefied material towards a riser chute. The riser chute is connected to a top cover of the housing and extends above the housing and upwardly discharges the liquefied material into the water column of the body of water.

    摘要: A self-guided system for trenching water bottoms for the installation of a pipeline. The preferred embodiment of the present invention teaches a system which is configured to be mounted about the pipeline to be buried, and which further contemplates a uniquely configured, forward mounted trenching/drive mechanism incorporating a cutter wheel generally about the width of the desired trench, the mechanism configured to propel the system as well as trench the desired area. The trenching/drive mechanism of the present invention further includes a high pressure spray array mounted about the frontal cutter wheel area, and a suction/mud pump assembly to the rear of the cutter wheel. The high pressure spray array provides the dual purpose function of loosening the area to be trenched, as well as cleaning and removing the trenched matter from the cutter wheel. The present invention further includes first and second buoyancy chambers which are configured to be uniformly lowered to the lower periphery of the unit frame, to provide skids for utilization of the present system in shallow water. An alternative embodiment of the present invention teaches the incorporation of a framed system similar to that as taught in the present invention, but without the trenching/drive mechanism, and with the addition of a pipe cutter mounted to the rear of the unit frame, for utilization of pipeline recovery and dismemberment operations.
