摘要： An erosion fence installation attachment for ditchers and trenchers that is short in length and articulated to pivot in pitch and yaw so as to permit the attachment to follow a ditcher through gullies over mounds and around arcs. The attachment is provided with a barrier material roll unwind, a resilient guide that guides the barrier material into a ditch formed by the ditcher so that the barrier material is pressed against the sides and bottom of the ditch to form an open channel, a first ditch fill disk that pushes fill material into the ditch and into the channel formed in the barrier material, a second ditch fill disk that pushes fill material from the opposite side of the ditch and onto and over the barrier material on that side of the ditch to form a wrap around the fill material deposited by the first fill disk so as to form an elongate anchoring pouch filled with fill material along the bottom of the ditch. A stake driven along one side the above ground portion of the barrier material will penetrate at least two layers of the barrier material further securing the anchor in place. To form a barrier fence, the barrier material is secured to the stake by conventional means.

摘要： This invention relates to a backfill compaction apparatus of a type particularly well suited to the puddling and compaction of loose soil around pipes laid in trenches, such apparatus being characterized by a self-propelled carriage adapted to straddle the pipe and advance therealong incrementally, a mast supported in upstanding relation on the front end of the carriage, a forwardly-extending boom mounted on the mast for vertical movement relative thereto, means operatively interconnecting the mast and boom for raising and lowering the latter, a tool-carrying platform suspended from the boom in overhanging relation to the trench to be backfilled, at least one pair of transversely-spaced combination puddling and vibrating subassemblies hanging from the tool-carrying platform adapted to enter the trench on opposite sides of a pipe laid therein, said subassemblies each including an elongate rigid nozzle for introducing water beneath the surface of the backfill and a vibrator connected to said nozzle for movement therewith, means for introducing water into said nozzles connectable to a remote pressurized source thereof, and a self-contained hydraulic system on board the carriage for powering the vibrators. The invention also encompasses the novel method of compacting backfill which comprises digging a hole into the backfill with a jet of water under pressure while simultaneously vibrating the surrounding loose soil until it caves into the puddle of water at the bottom of the hole thus produced.

摘要： A continuously longitudinally movable main frame is positionable at a longitudinally extending ditch having a continuously longitudinally extending mound of filler earth stacked transversely adjacent said ditch. The main frame mounts three spaced rotatable augers extending horizontally and transversely of said ditch, and a vertically actuated tamper following each auger engaged with filler earth in the ditch, all followed by a rotatable sweeper brush. During movement of the main frame, the augers are appropriately engaged with the mount of filler earth moving the earth into the ditch while the tampers compact the filler earth within the ditch, and the brush sweeps excess filler earth to the ditch.

摘要： A compactor for use in compacting the backfill in trenches is disclosed. A rigid ramp, the width of a trench, has an angular foot and is fitted with vibratory plates. The device is placed in a trench, backfill is loaded into the trench from behind the ramp, and the ramp vibrated to compact the fill across the entire width, depth and length of the ramp in a continuous operation. The device may be reinforced, if required, and also includes a supplemental weight distributor fastened above its vibratory plates.

The method includes driving a casing pipe at a depth of seasonal freezing and thawing of soil, drilling a pilot hole at a depth of not less than the depth of seasonal freezing and thawing of the soil, pouring hardening material in the amount required to fill in the space between the pilot hole walls and the pile from the bottom of the pilot hole to the bottom of seasonal freezing and thawing soil layer, installation of the pile in the pilot hole and poured mortar, and filling the remaining space between the pile and the casing pipe with non-frost heaving loose inert material.

摘要： The accessory apparatus is used in conjunction with the vehicle for backfilling a trench. The accessory has a frame with first and second ends. Wheels are rotatably mounted to the first and second ends of the frame, with the wheels being structured and arranged to bear on ground beneath the frame. An auger is rotatably mounted to the ends of the frame. The auger has a shaft with flighting extending outward therefrom. The shaft is horizontal when the apparatus is in use. The auger has a height that is relative to the ground. A motor is coupled to one end of the frame, the motor causing the auger to rotate. A mounting bracket is pivotally coupled to the frame. The mounting bracket is structured and arranged to mount to the vehicle. As the frame pivots with respect to the mounting bracket, the height of the auger is raised or lowered relative to the ground. The mounting bracket can be pivotally coupled by a single set of pins, wherein a screw jack is used to pivot the frame relative to the mounting bracket. Alternatively, a four bar linkage can be used to couple the frame to the mounting bracket. If the vehicle can change the orientation of the mounting bracket relative to vertical, then the mounting bracket can be fixedly coupled to the frame.

摘要： An apparatus for filling a trench and compacting the dirt within the trench. A vertical auger is rotatably mounted on a frame and is positionable within the trench for compacting dirt within the trench. A horizontal auger is rotatably mounted to the frame and includes a pair of flights spiraling toward the vertical auger on opposite sides of the vertical auger to force dirt along opposite sides of the trench into the trench with the dirt then being compacted by the vertical auger. Means are provided for rotating the horizontal and vertical augers. Additional means are provided for raising and lowering the vertical auger into and out of the trench. The vertical auger is pivotally mounted to the frame and may be pivoted upwardly when not in use by a third means. Back-up plates are provided to limit the movement of dirt away from the vertical and horizontal augers. The apparatus is mountable to a powered vehicle, such as a tractor.
