An electric brewing system uses kettles, strainer buckets, a support frame, and winches to create a multicomponent system for brewing beer. The kettles are containers used to hold and boil brewing beer. Each kettle has a main valve, a recirculation valve, a whirlpool-inducing recirculation pipe, and a heating element. The main valve and the recirculation valve are integrated into the kettle so that beer stored within the kettle can flow through the main valve and the recirculation valve. The whirlpool-inducing recirculation pipe is a uniquely shaped pipe that is mounted onto the kettle. Additionally, the whirlpool-inducing recirculation pipe causes the beer stored within the kettle to produce a whirlpool while brewing. The heating element is mounted within the kettle and is used to increase the temperature of the beer. The kettles and the winches are mounted onto the support frame and the strainer buckets are tethered to the winches.

A brewing system for fermenting beer when isolated from any possible micro-biological contamination comprises a first holding frame in a fermentation tank, a second holding frame in a bright beer tank, a water supply subsystem that is effective to measure, filter, and expose incoming water to UV light, a mixing subsystem that is effective to connect fittings or glands clamped onto manifolds of the fermentation and bright beer tanks, and aseptic dry, sealed bags containing dry ingredients of powdered malt extract, beer mixes, hops, and yeast. The brewing system includes a valve for connecting the water supply subsystem to the fermentation tank, and a mechanism for transferring the powdered malt into a disposable second aseptic dry, sealed fermenter bag for fermentation in the fermentation tank to form fermented beer. The disposable fermenter bag has ports on a bottom manifold and is designed to fit into the first holding frame that is insulated and custom controls its temperature. A transfer mechanism directs the fermented beer into a third aseptic bag disposed on a second holding frame inside a bright beer tank in which the fermented beer is conditioned and carbonated. Finally, a dispensing mechanism is connected to the bright beer tank for discharging a consistent contaminant free beer product to serve drinking customers.

A control arm is affixed to the racking shaft and can be rotated to cause rotation of the racking shaft relative to the housing and to change the entrance to different elevations within the tank. A clearance groove surrounds the inside end of the racking shaft to facilitate cleaning of the inside end of the racking shaft. The arm can interface with an indexing plate to hold the racking shaft fixed with the arm indicating by its position the orientation of the entrance. At least one leak detection port extends through the housing to indicate whether fluid is leaking between the racking shaft and housing.

A method for making beer includes use of a pressure vessel having a size to fit in a usual home refrigerator. With the assembly of the invention, it is possible for the domestic fermenting of a fermentable liquid mixture for making beer under pressure and chilled conditions. The pressure vessel defines a closed fermentation chamber for containing a bath having an amount of fermentable liquid beer mixture effective to provide a pressurized atmosphere above the surface of the bath within the closed fermentation chamber during the fermenting process. A pressure relief valve maintains the pressure within the fermentation chamber at a level sufficient to provide safety conditions during the fermentation process. An output discharge mechanism includes a spigot and a float used to remove from the bath beer located adjacent the surface of the bath to draw beer from the pressurized vessel while a pressurized atmosphere remains in the vessel. The essence of the invention is that all of the fermentation process steps are effected in a single closed pressurized vessel without having to filter or provide separate carbonation after the fermentation process is completed.
