    Abstract: A drilling fluid composition includes an aqueous base fluid, 0.01 to 5 wt. % of polyamine-functionalized activated carbon (AC-PAD), 0.1 to 10 wt. % of a shale material, 0.01 to 2 wt. % of a thickener, 0.1 to 10 wt. % of a fluid loss control additive, 0.01 to 5 wt. % of an adsorbent, and 1 to 20 wt. % of a borehole stabilizer. Each wt. % is based on a total weight of the drilling fluid composition. The AC-PAD is uniformly disposed on surfaces of the shale material. The shale material has an average pore size of 5 to 400 nanometers (nm). A method of preparing the AC-PAD and a method of drilling a subterranean geological formation.

    Abstract: A method of constructing a plugging device can include incorporating multiple filaments into the plugging device, and coating each individual filament with a swellable material. A plugging device for use in a subterranean well can include a body comprising multiple filaments, and a swellable material on each of the individual filaments. A system can include a plugging device conveyed by fluid flow into engagement with an opening, whereby the plugging device blocks flow through the opening. The plugging device can include multiple filaments, each of the multiple filaments being coated with a swellable material. The swellable material may seal against a surface of the opening.

    Abstract: A variety of systems, methods and compositions are disclosed, including, a method comprising: providing a fracturing fluid comprising: a carrier fluid; a micro-proppant; and a degradable micro-fiber; pumping the fracturing fluid into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation; and creating or extending at least one fracture in the subterranean formation. A fracturing fluid comprising: a carrier fluid; a micro-proppant; and a degradable micro-fiber. A method comprising: isolating a perforated zone in a wellbore; pumping into the perforated zone a pad fluid above a fracture gradient of a formation penetrated by the wellbore to create a plurality of fractures within the formation; pumping into the perforated zone a fracturing fluid above the fracture gradient; pumping into the perforated zone a diverting fluid below the fracture gradient; and repeating the step of pumping into the perforated zone the fracturing fluid after the step of pumping into the perforated zone the diverting fluid.
