    摘要: The invention relates to a method for the concentration of the spent acid produced in connection with the scrubbing smelter or roaster gas. The hot gas produced is scrubbed first by dry and then by wet separation, and the scrubbed gas is conducted to the manufacture of a sulfurous end product. The spent acid formed is dilute, and its sulfuric acid content is increased by making use of the thermal capacity of the actual hot gas, which comes from dry separation. Thus, by making use of the thermal capacity of the gas created in the process, it is possible to replace, at least partly, the use of evaporators.

    摘要: The present invention provides a system for recycling spent sulfuric acid, which aims at providing an industrially advantageous system featuring that spent sulfuric acid is effectively utilized at a place other than a discharge source regardless of geographical conditions, and also provides a method for recycling waste sulfuric acid, and recycled sulfuric acid. In the system, when spent sulfuric acid discharged or collected at a discharge source A is transported by a carrier unit B, and used at a user office C, a concentration of the spent sulfuric acid is measured and/or adjusted at least at one of the discharge source A, the carrier unit B, and the user office C. The spent sulfuric acid waste liquid discharged or collected at the discharge source A is reutilized by being mixed with at least one of a hydrogen peroxide solution and water.

    摘要: A process is provided for the purification of sulfuric acid contaminated with impurities, such as nitric acid, nitrosylsulfuric acid, dinitrotoluenes and mononitrotoluenes, wherein this contaminated sulfuric acid was obtained from the production of nitrated toluene using toluene and nitric acid. The contaminated sulfuric acid is preheated to a temperature in the range of 50 to 180.degree. C. in a heat exchanger. The heated, contaminated sulfuric acid is freed from steam-volatile impurities, such as dinitrotoluenes and mononitrotoluenes, and the nitrogen-containing compounds within the sulfuric acid are decomposed by counter currently contacting the contaminated sulfuric acid with steam and vapors from a downstream concentration step in a steam stripper, which is operated at a pressure ranging from 300 to 1,000 mbars. The steam-stripped sulfuric acid is fed into a first concentration stage, which is operated at the same pressure used in the steam stripper. The concentrated sulfur acid is then fed into a vacuum concentration process which produces a sulfuric acid having a concentration of 88 to 97 percent by weight. By using the same pressure that the steam stripper operates at in the first concentration stage, the crystallization of nitroaromatic compounds can be avoided in the condensation system of the concentration stages, along with the concomitant blockage of the condensation system that would have been caused by the crystals.

The process resides in the integration of a purification system with a concentration system which includes:heat exchanging spent sulfuric acid feedstock in indirect heat exchange with hot, concentrated sulfuric acid obtained from the sulfuric acid concentration system prior to introduction to said purification system;introducing the hot sulfuric acid into an upper portion of a purification system including a stripping column wherein organic contaminants and nitrogen-containing by-products are removed by countercurrent contact with superheated steam or hot gases;removing a contaminant-free sulfuric acid stream from a lower portion of said stripping column and introducing said contaminant-free sulfuric acid to the first stage of a sulfuric acid concentration system including a multiple effect vacuum concentration system;establishing a pressure differential between the removal point for the contaminant-free sulfuric acid from the stripping column and the entry point for the sulfuric acid concentration system including a multiple effect evaporator system such that the pressure differential is sufficient to provide flow from said stripping column to the multiple effect evaporator system without external pumps.
