Abstract: The invention is related to a material for horse protect gear which is mainly purposed to protect the material and products used for manufacturing protect gears, whereof a rubber or plastic foam body is used as the base material whose surface is bonded with a cloth; and the foam body and cloth combination is further made with a lot of through holes which pierce through the cloth and foam body, so that multiple small holes are visible on the cloth surface of the material to achieve a ventilation effect, thereby to enhance the conforming effect to the horse wearing the said protect gear without feeling sultriness.

Abstract: A safety halter includes a nose band which is formed of an upper nose band connected to a lower nose band by connecting rings. A crown piece is connected to a throat latch by connecting rings. The crown piece and throat latch are joined to the nose band by cheek pieces. A connecting piece extends between the lower nose band and the throat latch. The crown piece, throat latch and lower nose band are provided with safety release mechanisms which will separate when subjected to a tension exceeding a predetermined threshold. The strategic location of the safety release mechanisms ensures that the safety halter will release regardless of which part of the safety halter becomes ensnared providing greater safety than conventional halters and conventional safety halters.

Abstract: A horse protection equipment ventilation structure, the design of which specifically provides for aeration and ventilation at the horse-equipment contact area during the usage of saddles, heel protectors (boots), headgear, and other horse protection applications to eliminate perspiratory suppression and discomfort problems due to over tightening. The structural design features a ventilation pad that is assembled to a predetermined position on the interior surface of various horse protection equipment of assorted shape. The ventilation pad is fabricated of a tactile-feel, exceptional quality resilient material, which in addition to a plurality of arrayed vent holes, has various protruding patterns of predetermined shape formed on its interior surface. Furthermore, assorted reticulations and indentations are disposed on the protruding patterns. When protection equipment integrating the invention herein is fastened onto the body of a horse, the material characteristics of the ventilation pad enable the movement of the horse to generate opening, closure, contact, and separation that increases airflow which optimizes ventilation. As such, the present invention improves the prior art shortcomings of perspiratory suppression and discomfort problems resulting from the over tightening of horse protection equipment onto horses.

Abstract: A dual purpose protective nose shield for race horses which includes a pair of generally cup-shaped reverse air scoops positioned over the horse's nostrils. Each scoop has a rearwardly flared deflection shield which prevents cold frigid air and/or mud or other foreign debris from the track from impinging directly upon the nostrils. The rearwardly facing breathing port of the scoop channels inhaled and exhaled air into an air space which is formed by the scoop about the nostril. The incoming cold air is warmed as it contacts the outgoing exhaled air and by the body heat generated by the portion of the horse's face over which it is channeled so as to prevent damage to the nostrils and impaired or shallow breathing often caused by the direct inhalation of cold frigid air.
