    摘要: A measuring vessel (1) for determining the accuracy with which a liquid fuel dispenser dispenses liquid fuel comprises a neck (4) of transparent material. A primary arcuate panel (16) having three primary graduated scales (14) corresponding to three different kinds of liquid fuels is secured to the neck (4). Primary graduations (17) of the respective primary graduated scales (14) indicate the level to which the meniscus of actual volumes of the respective liquid fuel dispensed at the temperatures corresponding to the primary graduations (17) should rise so that the energy content of the actual volumes of the respective liquid fuels dispensed is equal to the energy content of a predefined calibration volume of the corresponding liquid fuel at a predefined reference temperature typically of 15° C. A secondary arcuate panel (20) having a secondary graduated scale (22) thereon is slideable relative to the primary graduated scales (17) so that a reference graduation (23) of the secondary graduated scale (22) can be aligned with an appropriate one of the primary graduations (17) of an appropriate one of the primary graduated scales (14), in order that the amount by which the actual volume of liquid fuel dispensed exceeds or falls below the actual volume which should have been dispensed.

    摘要: Methods, systems, and computer program products for using a reference meter to provide automated calibration for a fuel dispenser are disclosed. According to one method, first historical metering data associated with a fuel flow meter and second historical metering data associated with a reference meter are maintained within a memory. The first historical metering data is compared with the second historical metering data. It is determined whether a difference exists between the first historical metering data and the second historical metering data that can be corrected by calibration of the fuel flow meter. In response to determining that a difference exists between the first historical metering data and the second historical metering data that can be corrected by calibration of the fuel flow meter, an automated calibration of the fuel flow meter is performed.

    摘要: A system and method for calculating the flow rate of a dispensing point or flow capacity of a pump and fuel delivery system and determining if the dispensing point or fuel delivery system has a blockage and/or a performance problem if the calculated dispensing point flow rate is other than expected. The calculated dispensing flow rate is calculated by collecting fuel tank level data points for a dispensing point that fall within start and stop events of the dispensing event. The slope of a fitted line to the fuel tank level data points is used as the indication of the flow rate of the dispensing point. Different mathematical techniques may be used to improve the flow rate calculation to compensate for the minimum resolution of collecting fuel tank level data and the dead time included in the data of a dispensing transaction.

    摘要: A drink vending machine for providing fixed amounts of drinks is basically formed of a sales amount memory device for memorizing amounts of drinks to be sold as an opening duration of an ejection valve; a valve controller for opening the ejection valve by operation of one of the drink sales buttons; and a mode setting device for changing a mode to a setting mode for setting amounts of the drinks to be sold. The vending machine further includes a drink sales halt device, a timer and a sales amount registration device. The drink sales halt device stops ejection of the drink while the drink is ejecting from the ejecting valve by actuation of the sales button in the setting mode. In the setting mode, the timer counts the opening duration of the ejection valve from a time the sales button is pushed to a time the drink sales halt device is actuated. The sales amount registration device stores the counted opening duration of the ejection valve, which is used as the amount of the drink to be sold in response to operation of the sales button in a sales mode.

    摘要: Systems and methods for fuel dispenser security are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a user seeking access to a protected function of the fuel dispenser is presented with a challenge that is encrypted using a secret key that is unique to the fuel dispenser. To access the secured function, the user must obtain a session password from a server which authenticates the user, decrypts the challenge using a counterpart of the secret key, determines whether the user is authorized to access the secured function, and returns the session password extracted from the challenge only when the user is authorized. The server can thus control access to certain fuel dispenser functions according to a set of user access privileges. The challenge can also include additional information which can be used by the fuel dispenser and/or by the server to store a log of access activity.

    摘要: A fraud detection system within a fuel dispenser includes the ability to measure the amount of fuel dispensed through the fuel dispenser. The measurement is compared to a value independently created representing what the amount of fuel dispensed should approximate. If the values are not comparable, an alarm may be generated to indicate that the fuel dispenser has been modified to perpetrate fraud upon the customers. In particular, a reference used in the comparison is created bearing on a flow rate of the fuel being dispensed through the fuel dispenser. The flow rate is derived from a source independent of a pulser within the fuel dispenser providing the needed authenticity.
