摘要: Disclosed is an escalator system having: escalator steps; and a plurality of state sensors including a master sensor and slave sensors, wherein the slave sensors are secured to different ones of the escalator steps, wherein the master sensor is configured to: receive slave sensor data from the slave sensors; and transmit data to an escalator call center upon detecting an occurrence of a fault condition from the slave sensor data.

摘要: A method may be employed to control a transport device such as a moving walkway or an escalator with a control unit. The transport device may include a transport area for accommodating a person to be transported, transport means such as movable pallets or movable steps adapted for conveying the person located in the transport area in a standing manner, drive means adapted for driving the transport means, and an image recording device for creating visual images of a sector of the transport area. Based on the recorded images a movement of the person within the transport area is analysed. Based upon a result of the analysis the control unit is transferred into a safety modus.

An escalator or moving walkway is also provided herein. The escalator or moving walkway may contain multiple lanes operating at varying speeds and may have a circular, oval, curved or straight shape. The escalator or moving walkway may also include at least one lane having segments that operate at different speeds.

The planetary gear (10), which is connected between the input shaft (4) and the output shaft (6), is configured to activate the braking mechanism (8) in order to brake the output shaft (6), when no torque is provided via the input shaft (4). The self-braking gear (2) may be employed in a people conveyor (50) such as an escalator.

The escalator or the moving walkway includes at least one guide rail arranged between the deflecting regions for guidance of the step belt or the plate belt, as well as at least one support, which is arranged between the deflecting regions for supporting the at least one guide rail. The at least one support includes a plurality of plug parts that in an assembled state can be plugged together by plug connections to form a box-shaped support base body.

Then, a failure or an abnormal lighting state of the lighting device can be timely diagnosed so that maintenance is performed.
