    摘要: A pickoff system for removal of mail pieces one at a time from the end of a stack includes a pickoff belt mechanism positioned to frictionally engage an outer surface of a mail piece at the end of the stack and transport it transversely to a thickness direction of the stack, which mechanism includes one or more belts mounted on rollers and driven by a drive motor. A sensor is positioned to determine mail piece movement speed as it is being transported by the pickoff belt mechanism, and a measurement device determines belt movement speed during operation of the pickoff belt mechanism. A system is provided for reducing or stopping slipping of the mail piece relative to the belt during transport by the belt pickoff mechanism. A controller is connected to the sensor and the belt movement speed measurement device. The controller is configured to compare the belt movement speed and the mail piece movement speed during operation, and when mail piece movement speed is slower than belt movement speed, indicating slipping of the mail piece relative to the belt of the pickoff belt mechanism, the controller actuates the means for stopping slipping of the mail piece relative to the belt.

    摘要: A sheet carrying device includes a pickup roller sending out a sheet to a carrying path one by one from a document mounting tray, a roller first driving motor rotating the pickup roller, a control section controlling the roller first driving motor, and a slip detecting device detecting whether the pickup roller slips in an amount not less than a predetermined amount in carrying the sheet. Detecting that the pickup roller slips, the control section controls the roller first driving motor to perform a slip-settling operation for decreasing a start-up acceleration of the pickup roller from a time when starting to rotate to a time when reaching a predetermined speed. This allows reliably carrying a sheet and suppressing a decrease in a carrying speed of the sheet in order to prevent a decrease in a speed of a process including sheet carrying, even when the pickup roller slips in feeding the sheet from the sheet mounting tray.

    摘要: A method for determining the presence of slipping of a driven nip roller relative to the web in a web printing press includes systematically changing the speed of the nip driver while monitoring the corresponding change in web tension difference across the nip. The linearity and a slope of the relationship between the tension difference and the speed of the nip driver are determined. When the tension difference is non-linear relative to the speed of the driver or the slope of the relationship is substantially less than an expected slope, then slipping is determined to be present. An operator slip indication may be provided which includes the direction of the slip, positive or negative. The operator may then take corrective action to re-establish a non-slip condition, or automatic corrective actions may ensue.

The tension adjustment unit changes the tension of the sheet by adjusting a force to press the contact plate against the sheet and includes a first adjuster to change the tension of the sheet in conjunction with the interval between the supporters.
