摘要： A stacking apparatus for value documents, having a stack deposit device and a braking device which is arranged along the transport path of the value documents immediately before the stack deposit device. On the transport shaft of the braking device at least one driving roller is firmly mounted and at least one roller rotatably supported on the transport shaft. At least one cam roller is firmly mounted on a braking shaft of the braking device and at least one eccentric roller. By a rotation of the braking shaft, the eccentric roller can electively be brought in engagement with the opposing driving roller so that a value document becomes clamped between these, or be brought out of engagement with the opposing driving roller, so that the value document is no longer clamped between these, but rather is brakable by the engagement between the cam roller and the rotatably supported roller.

The amount of skew of the sheet is detected, and the amount of toner used for an image formed on a first surface of the sheet is determined. When the sheet with the image formed on the first surface thereof is conveyed so as to form an image on a second surface of the sheet, a skew correction roller unit is controlled so as to correct for the skew of the sheet based on the detected amount of skew and the determined amount of toner used.

摘要： Sheet deceleration apparatus and methods for decelerating a sheet of material for use in a sheet stacking or other application. The deceleration apparatus includes a rotatable cam nip, rotatable about a first axis and provided on one side of the travel path, such that the sheet of material can pass by the cam nip. The cam nip includes a lobe end, such that when the lobe end is away from the travel path, the sheet of material can pass substantially unimpeded past the cam nip, and when the lobe end is near the travel path, the sheet of material is nipped by the cam nip decelerating the sheet of material from the first speed to a second speed.

摘要： An apparatus is provided for decelerating sheets, especially paper or cardboard sheets, which are to be placed on a stack. The apparatus comprises rotatably driven clamping elements, which are disposed across the width of the apparatus on at least one side of the conveying plane of the sheets and are provided with clamping zones that intermittently reach all the way to the feeding plane of the sheet when revolving. The apparatus further comprises a mating element which is rotationally disposed on the opposite side of the conveying plane of the sheets such that a sheet can be clamped between the clamping zones and the mating element. The clamping elements are connected to an asymmetrical rotary drive unit while being equipped with ring segment-shaped clamping zones on a section of the circumference thereof. Furthermore, a deflecting device which deflects the rear edges of the sheet from the feeding plane in a downward direction is arranged at a distance from and upstream of the clamping elements in the direction of travel of the sheets.

The members of engagement and movement return to the condition of reception upon the engagement of the entered sheet with the output rollers for enabling a following sheet—to enter and to be moved along the first direction jointly with the movement of the previous entered sheet along the second direction.

摘要： A sheet registration system for a sheet transport path of a reproduction apparatus providing positive feeding yet lateral registration of a wide range of different image substrate sheets. Independent sheet transport units with plural radius sheet feed rollers spaced along the sheet transport path engage sheets being fed to provide positive feeding of even very short sheets from one sheet transport unit to another, yet provide automatic opening of the nips of selected units to allow lateral registration movement of even a very long sheet in the downstream lateral sheet registration system. The same drive motor rotatably driving each sheet transport unit is controlled in rotational position to selectively open the number of open sheet feeding nips needed for the lateral registration movement of that particular sheet length. The mating idlers for the sheet feed rollers need not be moved to open the nips.

摘要： A statement printer in an automated teller machine includes a guide block (86) which supports a print head (110). The print head prints on paper (130) which is moved adjacent thereto as the guide block moves transversely relative to the paper. A cutter disk (76) is supported by the guide block. The cutter disk is journaled on an arm (82). The arm is connected to an actuating lever (92). The actuating lever is engageable with stops (106) near the transverse extremes of travel of the guide block. Selective engagement of the actuating lever with the stops moves the cutter disk between cutting and non-cutting positions. Cam members (108) adjacent to the stops dispose the cutter disk away from a cooperating cutter bar (74) as the cutter disk moves between the cutting and non-cutting positions.
