Abstract:
A combine feeding system includes a lower conveyor roller configured to rotate around a lower conveyor roller axis, an upper conveyor roller configured to rotate around an upper conveyor roller axis and a drive shaft configured to rotate around a drive shaft axis. The lower conveyor roller axis, upper conveyor roller axis and drive shaft axis are substantially perpendicular to first and second housing walls. The feeding system also includes at least one chain configured to move over the drive shaft, the lower conveyor roller and the upper conveyor roller. The feeding system further includes at least one lower support arm coupled to the drive shaft and the lower conveyor roller and configured to pivot about the drive shaft axis. At least one force mechanism is configured to apply a force to the at least one chain in at least one of a first direction and a second direction.
Abstract:
This invention comprises novel combine conveyor means having novel transverse slat or flight means adapted to engage and drag fresh cut unthreshed grain along at a uniform velocity and then eject the same at an increased velocity at an exit end of the conveyor means while the velocity of the conveyor means remains the same, and the transverse slat means being formed with recesses in grain engaging edge portion means thereof or formed with a plurality of trailing fingers for providing a stripping action on the grain as the grain is transferred from an auger to a conveyor and from the conveyor to a threshing cylinder.
Abstract:
A conveyor system for asphalt, concrete, aggregate and similar materials includes a plurality of conveyor flights and a pair of chains for moving the flights along a material supporting floor. Each flight includes end portions which attach the flight to the chains and a central portion having a hollow triangular cross section that extends substantially across the floor to define a narrow edge at the lower leading portion of the flight. The end portions support each flight with the narrow edge of the central portion facing and spaced from the floor. By this means the narrow edge and the spaced positioning of the edge relative to the floor prevent stones from accumulating between the flight and the floor.

Abstract:
A reclaimer system for removing solid material from a fluid-filled pit. The reclaimer system comprises a screen, a pump, and a conveyor. The screen is positioned within the pit such that the pit is divided into a first portion and a second portion. The screen includes a plurality of openings. The pump is positioned in the first portion of the pit and includes at least one intake port in fluid communication with the first portion of the pit. The conveyor is positioned in the second portion of the pit adjacent the screen. The conveyor includes a frame, a belt, a plurality of flight members mounted on the belt, and a conveyor deck. The flight members are mounted on the belt and move the solid material along the conveyor deck, carrying the solid material out of the pit.
Abstract:
A horizontal plow system method and apparatus has been developed for the homogenous blending and reclaiming of bulk solid particulate matter, such as coal, at a utility plant. The horizontal plow system apparatus comprises one or more displacement assemblies, each further comprising a receiving stationary top plate and a horizontal flight subassembly. Coal is deposited via gravitational forces from an elongated slot bin storage onto the receiving stationary top plate and is then pushed on a bias and ultimately displaced by angular flights during travel of the horizontal flight subassembly along the receiving stationary top plate. Operation of the displacement assembly serves to displace the bulk solid from the sides of the receiving stationary top plate such that portions of coal from along the entire length of the elongated slot bin storage are continuously and simultaneously falling onto a moving transfer belt below, thereby insuring a more even blending of the coal. The transfer belt then moves the coal to the site of a downstream process. A sealing skirt structure provides support for the horizontal receiving stationary top plates as well as provides an enclosure to contain the coal and control dust. Adapted for rotational travel about the ends of the receiving stationary top plates, the angular flights depend rearwardly from opposite sides of forked members of the endless chain at an angle which permits the coal biased movement along the facing of the angular flights as well as sliding upon itself to be ultimately displaced from the sides of the receiving stationary top plate during longitudinal movement of the horizontal flight subassembly.
Abstract:
A plurality of mutually spaced scraper blades secured to an endless conveyor member comprising a pair of spaced chains, to be pulled thereby along the length of a manure pit in an animal or poultry house to clean such pit, wherein a raillike load-bearing member is rigidly secured to each side of such pit and each scraper blade has a runnerlike member arranged to slide along such rail when the blade is moved through the pit, in order to positively hold the blade downwardly with respect to the bottom of the pit and resist movement of the blade away from the pit bottom as a result of contact with relatively fixed obstructions. Each spaced scraper blade has a side extremity arranged to scrape a side of the pit, and the blades are arranged in an alternating fashion wherein successive blades scrape opposite sides of the pit. The conveyor chains are arranged in a waving, undulating pattern such that tension forces applied to the chains when the blades are pulled through the pit tend to straighten the chains from their undulating pattern and to bias the scraping side extremities of the blades against their respective sides of the pit, to facilitate scraping thereof.
