摘要： In order to use a length of tape having no liner on its rear side, a hand labeler includes a tape-feeding mechanism having a rotary drum for making the length of tape advance a predetermined length; and a tape peeling-off mechanism for forcedly unrolling the tape roll against its adhesive power. The peeling-off mechanism is placed between the tape holder section and the rotary drum of the tape-feeding mechanism, and it comprises a peeling-off drum ganged with the rotary drum of the tape-feeding mechanism and a tape-feeding roll or rolls freely rotatable to cooperate with the circumference of the peeling-off drum for gripping the length of tape.

摘要： A manually-operated labeler for dispensing labels from a carrier strip having labels stuck onto the carrier strip. The labeler has a casing in which there is a carrier strip feeding mechanism driven by an actuating mechanism for advancing the carrier strip and turning it back at a turnback part to separate a label from the carrier strip. A printing device is provided which moves toward the turnback part for printing a label which is passing thereover on the carrier strip.The handle extended from said case is opposed to a lever provided as a part of the actuating mechanism and a checking device is dividedly provided on the lever and the handle to generate a signal when the lever approaches the handle. The printing device performs a rocking motion with a guide. The ink supplying device opposing the printing device has an ink roller arranged on the cover of the case. The feed drum of the carrier strip feeding mechanism is rotated by a feed drive mechanism provided on the actuating mechanism regardless of the operation of the lever.

摘要： A label applicator for self-adhesive labels is disclosed.The applicator includes cam tracks which control the orientation of two pivotal print-heads during motion from a rest position to a printing position. The print-heads are mounted on levers pivoted in the casing so that motion of the print-heads takes place about two pivot centers. A rotary inking roller is positioned along the path of the operative facets of each print-head and inking takes place during movement of the corresponding print-head to ensure contact during one part of the cycle and avoids such contact during the return. The roller acts as a part of the cam track. The inking action is such that the roller is rotated by the operative facets. At the instant printing takes place, a part of the cam track serves to prevent later motion of those print facets.The invention can be applied to label applicators (or dispensers) wherever there is a need for high quality printing on labels.

摘要： A label strip jam preventing mechanism for use in a hand labeler wherein the labeler is equipped with a feed mechanism having a feeding roller that is rotatably mounted on the frame of the hand labeler for feeding a continuous label strip. A label strip charging mechanism having a pressure plate covering the feeding roller for assuring engagement between the feeding roller and the label strip. A platen which is reciprocally movable toward and away from a printing head for printing the label strip. The label jam preventing mechanism includes a passage plate which is pivotally connected to the frame and to the platen for providing a passage between the pressure plate and the platen, as the platen shifts in position. A first label holding assembly holds both edges of the label strip at the passage plate. A second label holding assembly holds the both edges and the center portion of the label strip at the pressure plate. Thus, the label strip can be prevented from becoming slack and jamming in the passage between the label supply roll and the platen.

摘要： Disclosed are three embodiments of a hand-held apparatus for printing and applying pressure sensitive labels. All the embodiments are disclosed as having a housing, a rigid, metal, frame plate mounted by the housing, a platen and a cooperating print head, a delaminator for delaminating printed labels from the web of supporting material on which the labels are carried, an applicator for applying the printed labels, a feed wheel having teeth for engaging and advancing the web, a manually operable actuator drivingly connected to the feed wheel and the print head, a brake, and an ink roll for inking the print head. The apparatus also includes a feed wheel assembly having a feed wheel driven by a pawl and ratchet mechanism. The pawl and ratchet mechanism is adjustably connected to the feed wheel and a rolling contact type one-way clutch prevents loss of tension in the web between the brake and the feed wheel. In two of the embodiments the brake takes the form of a roll operated by the print head and in another embodiment the brake is operated by the printing head through an overcenter mechanism. The print head has a pair of ball tracks and the frame of the apparatus mounts a pair of ball tracks containing respective ball bearings. The feed wheel is driven by gear means having an eccentric adjustment. The web is guided through the apparatus by track structure which is readily assembled and removable. A delaminator of one embodiment includes a plurality of small diameter rollers mounted on a shaft. An inking mechanism includes an ink roll having hub sections, with an ink-tight seal between the hub sections. The frame plate is accurately located and reliably held to a housing section. A removable housing section is snap-locked into place relative to at least one other housing section. The labels which are carried on the web are mounted on an easy to manufacture, low cost reel. A rewinder is provided to rewind the spent portion of the supporting material web. An improved composite label web is also disclosed.

摘要： There is disclosed a labeler having a frame and a subframe, with a print head movably mounted on the subframe for cooperation with a platen. A label hold-down member is disposed in overlying relation to the platen. The subframe carries a label roll composed of labels releasably secured by pressure sensitive adhesive to a web of supporting material, and the subframe defines a path for the web. The label roll is mounted on improved mounting structure. A manually operable actuator drives a gear which in turn effects movement of the print head. The gear carries a pivotal pawl which drives a ratchet wheel. The ratchet wheel and a toothed feed wheel mounted in the subframe are adjustable with respect to each other. A die roller cooperable with the toothed wheel is spring-urged against the toothed wheel. The frame includes a movable frame section mounted on a pivot to facilitate easy replacement of an ink roller. The pivot also mounts an applicator roll and a leaf spring of the inking mechanism. The frame section is releasably latched in place.
