Abstract:
A labeling machine includes a device for adjusting the position of a tape holding labels, which enables moving the tape progressively on an abutment surface in order to vary the position of the print on the label. The labeling machine further presents a self-regulating arresting element of a tape bearing labels. The arresting element presses the tape against an abutment surface when a label must be applied on a destination surface and releases the tape when, on the action of a control device, the tape is actuated to advance. The machine further includes a printing member whose ink roller is associated to a device that enables it to engage easily and smoothly on a corresponding support arm. The support arm is connected to a door providing access to interior areas of the labeling machine, whose opening causes the support arm to exit and the exposes the ink roller.
Abstract:
A printing band with human readable and printing characters is capable of printing on preprinted labels with seven color zones. The selected printing band can print the day of the week, such as Wednesday, plus obliterate all the color zones except for the color zone corresponding to the commercially accepted color for that selected day, such as Wednesday.
Abstract:
An improved label stamper which is capable of stamping prices on labels attached on a tape so as to attach the stamped labels on commodities is disclosed. A tape loading mechanism of the label stamper is constituted such that a loading case goes in and out of the machine by functions of a pair of folding and extending legs, so that the label tape can be loaded in a convenient manner. A guide is constituted such that a front plate and a rear plate are fastened across a narrow gap, and this gap forms a guide channel. In a holding mechanism, a push plate is disposed facing toward a base plate, and the push plate interlocks a movable lever to the loading case. Thus, if the tape is inserted into the guide channel, the tape is automatically press-held to the base plate. In a stamping mechanism, a selecting hole of a selecting wheel for driving a stamping belt is provided with a recess and a triangular protuberance. Thus two selecting wheels will never be engaged together, and fingers of a selecting bar are accurately coupled to the selected wheel. In a carrying mechanism, carrying rollers are provided in the form of a cartridge, and this cartridge is replaceably accommodated within a cartridge compartment. This improves the compactness and the performance of the label stamper, and the cartridge can be conveniently replaced.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hand-held labeling device (10) having a housing (11) and an operating lever (14) which is arranged for swinging about a first axis (13) and which in the rest position is swung away from a second handle (12) fixed to the housing, further a transport mechanism (34 to 36) for a label tape (31) which is operated during the swinging-out movement of the operating lever (14), the label tape being pulled off a supply roller (32) and run to the transport mechanism (34 to 36) over a guiding edge (33), a tape brake arranged between the supply roller (32) and the guiding edge (33) for fixing and releasing the label tape (31) in the longitudinal direction, the tape brake being provided with a brake lever (27) arranged to swing about a second axis, against the force of a first return spring (45) which, in the rest position of the movable handle (14), acts to press the label tape (31) against a guide plate (30), by the end (29) of the one arm of the brake lever (27), while the other arm of its lever coacts with the movable handle (14) in such a manner that operating this handle will cause the tape brake formed by the other arm (29) to be lifted. The invention consists in the fact that a lever (22) actuated by the operating lever (14) carries an element (57) which acts, in addition to the return spring (45), to fix the brake lever (27) in the rest position, in the rest position of the operating lever (14).
Abstract:
There is disclosed a hand-held device for optionally printing and dispensing a web of tags or pressure sensitive labels, or printing on pressure sensitive labels and applying the printed labels to merchandise. Also disclosed are composite webs of pressure sensitive labels and method of using such webs.
Abstract:
There are disclosed various embodiments of a composite web of pressure sensitive labels, method and apparatus for making such embodiments of the composite web, and method and apparatus by which a composite web of labels is advanced and by which labels are successively printed and applied to merchandise.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a hand-held labeler having a print head with electrically selectable printing elements for printing and applying pressure sensitive labels. The labeler has a housing with a handle and structure for mounting a roll of pressure sensitive labels releasably carried on a carrier web. The labeler has a movable section which mounts a keyboard and a control circuit on a circuit board. The control circuit controls the printing elements. Labels are printed by the printing elements as the carrier web is advanced, and labels are delaminated at a delaminator and dispensed into label applying relation to an applicator. The print head is mounted on a support and is continuously spring-urged toward the platen. Movement of the print head toward the platen is limited to prevent damage. The support and the print head can be moved away from the platen from the outside of the labeler to facilitate threading of the web. The print head support can be skewed to provide uniform pressure contact of the printing elements with the labels. An electrical energy source, for example a battery, can be located in a hole in the label roll. Electrical energy from the battery terminals passes to the control circuit via contacts associated with the label roll mounting structure. In another embodiment, the handle can comprise a rechargeable battery. The drive includes an electrical stepping motor and in another embodiment, the drive is mechanically accomplished.Printing is accomplished by a plurality of individually controllable printing elements, preferably arranged in a single line array disposed on the print head in a direction transverse to the direction of advancement of the web. The array may be only one character width or height long, or may extend across the entire width of the web, in order to permit any size characters of any font and any orientation to be printed. When a long array is used, a serial-to-parallel converter may be incorporated in the print head to reduce the number of connections that need the made to the head. By utilizing thermal printing elements, the characters can be made to appear as if they were formed of individual print elements, or as if they were continuously printed simply by controlling the length of time that the printing elements are engaged to thereby control the amount of smear and burn produced on the web.
Abstract:
A manually-operated labeler for dispensing labels from a carrier strip having labels stuck onto the carrier strip. The labeler has a casing in which there is a carrier strip feeding mechanism driven by an actuating mechanism for advancing the carrier strip and turning it back at a turnback part to separate a label from the carrier strip. A printing device is provided which moves toward the turnback part for printing a label which is passing thereover on the carrier strip. The handle extended from said case is opposed to a lever provided as a part of the actuating mechanism and a checking device is dividedly provided on the lever and the handle to generate a signal when the lever approaches the handle. The printing device performs a rocking motion with a guide. The ink supplying device opposing the printing device has an ink roller arranged on the cover of the case. The feed drum of the carrier strip feeding mechanism is rotated by a feed drive mechanism provided on the actuating mechanism regardless of the operation of the lever.
Abstract:
A constant printing pressure mechanism for a label printing machine: in one embodiment, a pressure applying roller is attached to the free ends of the yokes or printing levers that support the printing head; a resilient pressure receiving member which is pivotally supported on the machine frame and is abutted by the pressure roller; when the hand lever is squeezed, the pressure roller is pressed to the pressure receiving member; when the force of the pressure roller both pivots the receiving member a permitted maximum distance and overcomes the compressive stress in the resilient pressure receiving member and deflects the member, then the printing stroke is effected; in another embodiment, the pressure applying roller is on the frame and the resilient pressure receiving means is on the hand lever; the pressure receiving means comprises: a supporting member attached to a hand lever; a pressure controlling member which is pivotally secured to the hand lever; a pressure receiving piece having a cam surface on the front side thereof and being pivotally secured to the pressure controlling member; and a spring member which is interposed between the supporting member and the pressure controlling member.
