Abstract:
A label printer comprising a cassette-receiving bay, said cassette-receiving bay having a base, a top opening opposite the base, and a locking mechanism extending from said base, said locking mechanism having a locking part, said locking part being movable in a first direction and biased in a second direction opposite to said first direction, said locking part having one or more projections such that a force thereon directed towards said base causes the locking part to move in the first direction and wherein said locking part is biased to move in said second direction when the force is removed.
Abstract:
A multi-purpose laminating and adhesive transfer apparatus having a frame supporting rotatably engaging nip rollers. A replaceable cartridge is insertable into the frame and has upper and lower feed rolls which may be a laminate, film or paper, or an adhesively coated film or a film having an affinity for adhesive. The upper and lower feed rolls containing the webs of laminating or adhesive transfer material have tensioning caps which can be adjusted to provide the proper tensioning to prevent the rollers from overrunning as they rotate. Tensioning caps and the cartridges are pre-set and provided to the user. A cutter blade is positioned at the discharge side of the nip rollers and may be actuated to sever the master at any desired location. The apparatus may be operated to apply lamination to either top or bottom surfaces of a substrate or an adhesive to the top or bottom surface of the substrate or to both surfaces.
Abstract:
A printing labeler having a label restraining and guiding system with a deflection member for turning back only the backing sheet of a continuous label strip composed of a backing sheet having a label peel-off layer and a plurality of labels provisionally attached to the backing sheet to thereby peel the labels from the backing sheet, a platen that supports lateral end portions of the deflection member, a pair of left and right side plates that support the platen and a label guide piece that faces the platen and guides the continuous label strip toward the deflection member and the label guide piece integrally has a pair of left and right engagement flange portions engageable with a pair of left and right engagement grooves formed in the pair of left and right side plates, a stop portion that connects upstream ends of the engagement flange portions and a deflection guide portion that connects downstream ends of the engagement flange portions and that a surface of the platen faces a vacant space enclosed by the engagement flange portions, the stop portion and the deflection guide portion.
Abstract:
A core holding device and a cover device for roll-shaped label of a label sticking machine capable of assuredly holding a roll-shaped label or a core thereof, simplifying an operation for installation and removal thereof, and forming it simple and compact, characterized in that core holding members (core holding knob members (13)) for holding the roll-shaped label (L) are of a rotating type, each of the core holding members (13) is energized by a spring, a pair of spring plates (11) and the pair of core holding knob members (13) are installed between right and left side plates (3), each of the core holding knob members (13) comprises a rotating shaft part (20), a core holding part (21), and a knob part (22) which is located on the opposite side of the core holding part (21) and projected outward from the side plates (3), and the spring plates (11) can energize the core holding part (21) of each of the core holding knob members (13) in the core holding positional direction thereof.

Abstract:
A multi-purpose laminating and adhesive transfer apparatus having a frame supporting rotatably engaging nip rollers which define a nip area. A replaceable cartridge is insertable into the frame and has upper and lower feed rolls which may be a laminate, film, or paper, or an adhesively coated film, or a film having an affinity for adhesive. The frame includes an open front for receiving the cartridge and a rear wall, and the cartridge includes an open rear in substantial alignment with the open front of the frame. The cartridge also includes a top wall, a bottom wall, and a front wall, the open rear providing access to the upper and lower feed rolls and loading of material from the upper and lower feed rolls to the nip rollers. The front wall of the cartridge has an opening therein in alignment with the nip area.
Abstract:
The label dispenser and holder of the present invention includes a rectangular frame having a bottom support member, a top member, a pair of spaced apart end members, a back member, and a front member. At least two rectangular label dispensers are positioned within the holder. The holder includes various brackets which permit it to be universally mounted to various types of supporting surfaces, including a bracket for detachably securing the holder to a person's belt. The dispenser box of the present invention includes a pair of spaced apart slits in the edge wall of the box. Either one or two guide members are provided within the box for guiding a label type having a backing strip and a label strip detachably adhered to one side of the backing strip. The guide members guide the label tape so that the labels are separated from the backing strip and are expelled from one of the two slots in the edge wall of the box.

Abstract:
There is disclosed a hand-held labeler which uses labels releasably adhered to a carrier web. The labeler has a body with a pair of identical body sections. The body mounts first, second and third feed rolls. The first and third feed rolls project beyond the body and cooperate respectively with the second feed roll. The body has a delaminator and a guideway for the carrier web. The carrier web can be threaded through the guideway and about the delaminator in either direction. In either event, the first, second and third feed rolls cooperate with the carrier web to advance it and effect label delamination. Depending on the direction of threading, either the first or the third feed roll is used to advance the carrier web by rolling that feed roll along the surface to be labeled. A label roll is held captive in a holder having two identical body sections. In an alternative embodiment, a label strip winding feature enables a strip of labels to be wound into a roll for subsequent use in the labeler. Common identical molded parts enable low-cost construction. There are also disclosed method of making a labeler and method of labeling.
